Job Summary:  

An IT Manager is the day-to-day operation, security, and strategic direction of the company's technology infrastructure, systems, and end-user support functions. This role leads a small IT team of two direct reports and serves as the primary point of accountability for network infrastructure, hardware and software lifecycle management, data security, and technology vendor relationships. The IT Manager partners closely with leadership across departments to ensure technology capacity keeps pace with business growth, while maintaining a hands-on, roll-up-your-sleeves approach appropriate to an organization of this size. 

 

Duties and Responsibilities:  

  • Directly supervise, mentor, and develop a team of two IT staff, including workload assignment, performance management, and professional development planning. 
  • Establish IT department structure, service standards, and maintaining ticketing/help desk workflows appropriate to a growing organization, with an eye toward when additional headcount is warranted.  
  • Develop / own the IT business continuity and disaster recovery strategy, including backup architecture, recovery testing cadence, and executive-level incident reporting. 
  • Lead the company's response to compliance and security due diligence (e.g., SOC 2, customer security questionnaires, cyber insurance applications), coordinating with Legal, Finance, and Sales as needed. 
  • Strong knowledge of network infrastructure, cloud platforms, and enterprise security frameworks, with the judgment to know when to go deep personally versus delegate. 
  • Track record of hiring, developing, and managing technical staff. 
  • Direct experience with SOC 2 or similar compliance frameworks and customer security due diligence processes. 
  • Experience with mixed deployment environment including Windows, MacOS, Linux and server based hypervisors. 

 

Qualifications, Skills, and Attributes: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience 
  • 5+ years of progressive IT experience, including at least 1–2 years in a supervisory or team lead capacity 
  • Demonstrated experience managing network infrastructure, cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud), and endpoint management tools 
  • Strong working knowledge of IT security fundamentals, including access controls, endpoint protection, and incident response 
  • Experience managing outside vendors, managed service providers, and software licensing agreements 
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate technical issues for non-technical stakeholders 
  • Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Network+/Security+, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, or ITIL Foundation 
  • Experience supporting a company of similar size (50–150 employees) through a period of growth 
  • Familiarity with SOC 2 or similar compliance frameworks and client security review processes 
  • Experience with scripting or automation tools (e.g., PowerShell, Python) for systems administration 
  • Ability to work on US DOD ITAR controlled projects preferred  
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft office products 

 

Job Type: Full-time  

Compensation:  

This will be a salaried, exempt position. Compensation to be discussed relative to experience and abilities. This position will be open to the company yearly bonus and retirement savings programs.
