Kendallville, IN-Processing Maintenance ll

Position Summary:  

Processing Maintenance ll will perform routine duties while learning processing policies and procedures.  As, experience is gained, duties will become more diversified and are performed under more general supervision.  

Responsibilities: 

• Perform machine calibrations, timing adjustments, and various preventative maintenance functions (oiling, greasing, and inspection). 

• Perform minor machine diagnostics/performance tuning with supervision. 

• Perform major machine diagnostics/performance tuning with supervision. 

• Monitor and correct situations which activate any HACCP situations to maintain integrity of the product being produced.  

• Maintains continuity between Maintenance, Processing, Safety and Quality teams by documenting and/or communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs as they arise. 

• Maintains equipment parts and supply inventory, placing orders from vendors with supervision. 

• Complete training in a timely manner as they are assigned in LMS. 

• Comply with the strictest standards for Food Safety and animal welfare and to report incidents to management.  

• Any other duties assigned by management. 

Qualifications:  

• Must be at least 18 years of age. 

• Valid driver’s license. 

• Ability to perform all machine preventative maintenance tasks, calibrations, and timing adjustments with supervision.  

• Ability to perform minor and major machine diagnostics and performance tuning. 

• Ability to use DVM (Digital Voltage Meter) to measure voltage, continuity, resistance. Preferred but not required.  

• Proven mechanical/electrical abilities.  

• Able to work around moving machinery comfortably and safely.  

• Proven mechanical / electrical ability.  

• Capable of working weekends and maintaining a flexible schedule. This includes regularly scheduled shifts Saturday and Sunday as well as holidays if needed, being on call.  

• Working in a farm environment with various conditions 

• Does not own or maintain routine contact with swine, birds, or cattle.  

Physical Demands: 

• Ability to perform essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodations.  

• Ability to remain standing and/or walking for extended periods of time on concrete floors. 

• Ability to stoop, bend, climb and lift at least 25 pounds. continuously throughout the day and 50 pounds occasionally. 

Safety: 

• Follow all company safety rules. 

• Proper us of PPE.  

• Lock out tag out awareness/authorization. 

• Report any safety concerns to Manager.  

• PIT certified.
