Overall Mission

This position will be a temporary, fixed term 6-month position supporting our Merchandising Team in our Head Office. Support the Merchandise Team in the analysis, control, and optimization of merchandise deployment for Hermès Australia. Act as a key a commercial liaison, between the office and the stores.

Main activities

Sales and Stock Reporting

  • Consolidate, publish and monitor Daily/Weekly/Monthly/Periodic Sales Evolution reports by Métier.

  • Prepare and manage cyclical and ad hoc reporting of Sales and Stock performance by Métier, to provide the Merchandise Team and the greater group real time information critical to driving commercial results.

  • Provide analysis and reporting on aged stock performance, and drive actions accordingly to optimize stock investment. 

 

Reordering, Client Order and Stock Management Support

  • Coordinate and manage daily client orders and queries from boutiques (Store Managers, Operations Managers, and BOH teams). Owning the client order management process, ensuring timely follow-up and resolution, delivering exceptional client experience. 

  • Assist the Merchandise team on stock forecasting for reorderable lines/categories, owning the ordering process and stock portfolio.

  • Support the Merchandise Team in optimizing stock balance via cyclical and ad hoc transfers between stores as well as globally.

Other 

  • Support the Merchandise Team on Pricing Management, Reporting and Template preparations for key moments such as Buying periods and Business Review meetings, Exceptional / Staff Sale preparation, and the circulation of inter-department communications initiated by the Merchandise Team.

  • Support the Merchandise Team in receiving and addressing daily merchandise related queries and problem solving for store teams and other departments.

  • Assist in the communication, monitoring and calculation of the monthly sales incentive programs.

 

Performance criteria 

  • Achieve the targets set during the annual appraisal / review.

  • Demonstrate communication timeliness with stakeholders.

  • Achieve optimized stock efficiency for the subsidiary.

  • Contribute to the overall development of the Hermès House.

 

Candidate Profile

  • Demonstrates a strong interest in merchandise and emerging industry trends.

    • Possesses a strong analytical mindset, with a high degree of numeracy. 

    • Tertiary qualifications in Business, Marketing, Fashion, Merchandising, or related field preferred. Prior experience as a Planning or Merchandise Assistant is favourable.

    • Demonstrates meticulous attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

    • Exhibits excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.

    • Able to work well collaboratively with others, both within the Merchandise Team and other departments.

    • Technologically adept, with intermediate to advanced Excel skills and the ability to quickly learn new retail and data reporting systems.

    • Functions effectively both autonomously and as part of a team, demonstrating initiative, responsibility, and self-motivation.

    • Brings a highly organized and methodical approach to time and priority management.
