As a Senior Manufacturing Engineer, you own the planning and execution of the electrolyzer stack, balance of plant, and any necessary tooling. You will work closely with design engineers to ensure the systems can be produced effectively, efficiently, and at accelerating rates. This role offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced, collaborative startup environment, where your contributions will have a direct impact on the future of decarbonization.

  • Coordinate cross-functional efforts across design, supply chain, and production to execute the build process: covering planning, sourcing strategies, sequencing, MBoM development, tooling, equipment and work order creation

  • Author work instructions and processes that allow interdisciplinary teams to build effectively while ensuring quality standards are met

  • Manage production team priorities, offer technical direction, drive execution, and support professional development of team members

  • Support manufacturing and assembly shop layouts

  • Design production tooling, jigs, and platforms to improve build consistency and rate

  • Other duties as assigned

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering discipline (mechanical, aerospace, etc.)

  • 5+ years of experience building complex mechanical systems

  • Strong understanding of fundamental principles in mechanical and fluid systems

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted

  • Able to work on-site in Hawthorne, CA

  • Proven ability to interface with multidisciplinary functions of mechanical, electrical, and fluid systems

  • Experience and demonstrated proficiency in developing and implementing comprehensive work instructions and test procedures

  • A history of working directly with hardware and subsystems including, instrumentation, power systems, hazardous fluids, and structures in a controlled environment

  • Experience working on build, test of complex assemblies at the system and subsystem level

  • Experience with scaling manufacturing processes from development through rate production

  • When given a set of guiding objectives and principles, you can identify, prioritize, and execute on tasks with minimal supervision

  • A willingness to jump in and work side-by-side with technicians

  • You have strong organizational, documentation follow-through skills and take pride in the quality of your work

  • You are passionate about decarbonization and addressing climate change
