Since 1893, Backus Hospital has been the primary source of healthcare services for much of Eastern Connecticut. We are home to the only trauma center in New London and Windham counties and are the only area hospital with LIFE STAR helicopter services. We deliver and coordinate a continuum of high-quality healthcare with the goal of improving the health of our communities.

Supervises the performance of and provides preliminary interpretation of diagnostic cardiac exercise and pharmacologic stress testing according to department policies and procedures.

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in exercise physiology or similar science-based allied health curriculum. Master’s Degree in exercise physiology or similar science-based allied health curriculum preferred.

Experience: 3 to 6 month clinical internship in stress testing. One (1) year clinical experience in stress testing preferred. 

Licensure, Certification, Registration: BSN, certified as ACSM Certified clinical exercise physiologist or eligible.
