Position Summary:
Various duties to install and maintain integrity of plumbing and pipe systems. Plumber Foreman supervises the installation, maintenance, and repair of all plumbing systems and their related appurtenances in accordance with recognized procedures and techniques common to the trade of plumber.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
• Supervises craft of the plumbers. Makes job assignments, adjusts schedules to maintain manpower levels consistent with available craftsmen, and inspects and checks the work of the plumbers. Instructions are received from the Plumbing Superintendent
• Layout, fabricate and assemble water, sewer, solar and other piping systems
• Design, install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair toilets, bath tubs, sinks, and water heaters
• Interpret plans and specifications
• Use all tools of the trade to cut, connect, and install piping and equipment
• Understand the public health safety in regards to the preservation of food and indoor air qualities
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualification/Requirements:
• Hawaii Driver’s License
• Basic electrical knowledge for various control systems
• Basic knowledge for handling fluids and gases under pressure
• Ability to multi-task, organize and prioritize to meet deadlines.
• Must be flexible in work hours, on call as needed
• Ability to effectively operate office equipment, to include desktop computers, calculators, printers, copy machines and telephones.
• Verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
• Good attitude; must be a team player.
Education/Training:
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Satisfactory completion of 10,000+ hours of work experience in plumbing trade through Local 675’s Apprenticeship Program
• 10 semesters of related and hands-on instructions (5 years)
• Must be able to understand physics of liquids, gases, refrigerants, electricity and electrical controls
• 5+ years of work experience in the plumbing field
