We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Field Support Technician to join our team. This role supports the go-live process for new EV charging sites — including new vehicle inspections, site readiness checks, and documentation — to ensure smooth, on-schedule launches at Highland customer locations. The Field Support Technician will perform preventative maintenance and troubleshooting on chargers and associated equipment, building strong technical skills in EV chargers and vehicles alongside project coordination and customer service abilities, all while gaining hands-on experience and adhering to safety protocols.

This role requires regular travel to customer locations throughout the United States. While this is a remote position, candidates must reside within a reasonable distance of a major airport to support frequent travel.

Hands-on training: Highland will provide the tools and training needed in commissioning support, site
readiness, and vehicle inspection processes.
Variety: From EV systems to charging infrastructure to project coordination, you’ll develop a diverse skill
set in a rapidly growing industry.
Certification Reimbursement: We’ll reimburse you for all certification expenses after 12 months of
employment.

Represent the company at customer locations with the highest standards of professional conduct.

Support the go-live process for new EV charging sites, including coordinating on-site activities and flagging
risks or delays to the Commissioning Engineer.

Conduct new vehicle inspections, verifying vehicle readiness and documenting findings prior to site
activation.

Assist technicians in asset inspections, diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing customer assets on-site
as needed.

Follow established safety procedures to ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards.

Maintain extremely thorough, accurate, and timely documentation for all commissioning activities,
inspections, and work completed, using company asset management and project tracking platforms.

Support High Voltage (HV) charger operations, including conducting plug cycles and responding to service
needs during commissioning.

Perform Low Voltage (LV) battery replacements and jump-starts as needed.

Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean work environment to ensure efficiency and safety.

Develop and maintain strong customer service skills, ensuring a positive customer experience throughout
the go-live process.

Participate in training programs and hands-on learning opportunities to develop technical and project
coordination expertise.

Exceptional attention to detail and a high standard for accurate, organized documentation.

Demonstrated time-management skills, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to driving continuous
process improvement.

Proficiency with computers and standard software (documentation tools, spreadsheets, asset/project
management platforms) required.

Automotive Technology certification from an accredited school preferred (not required).

Willingness to develop project management and project coordination skills; prior experience a plus.

Basic electrical and AC skills.

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and
procedure manuals.

Strong problem-solving skills.

Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.

Must be able to lift 50 lbs. and work in varying weather conditions.

Willingness to travel and work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends if required.

Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
