• →Create detailed designs of fire sprinkler systems using specialized computer-aided design (CAD) software packages that are based on the AutoSPRINK platform.
• →Coordinate sprinkler system piping with other building components.

• →Perform hydraulic calculations, visualizing 3D concepts and solving basic mathematic problems, including geometry and algebra.

• →Read and interpret construction documents, including drawings, specifications, and contracts.
• →Interpret and apply applicable NFPA standards to the design and/or layout of the sprinkler systems based on the building type, construction type, hazard classifications, and architectural features.
• →Communicate with AHJs, contractors, and other trades.
• →Coordinate with team members for listing of required materials.
• →Coordinate with team members for permitting and inspection requirements.
• →Actively participate in predesign and review meetings.
• →Identify opportunities for cost-saving measures and quality improvement.
• →Adhere to company safety policies and procedures to ensure all duties are performed in a safe and professional manner.
• →Provide outstanding customer service.
• →Other duties as assigned.

• High School Diploma/GED required; Degree preferred in Sprinkler Design.
• NICET Certification level II required; III or higher preferred. 
• 4+ years’ experience in fire sprinkler design
• Proficient use of AutoCAD and Microsoft Office is required, SprinkCAD is preferred.
• Proficient in interpreting and applying applicable NFPA standards, and in reading and interpreting construction documents.
• Must obtain and retain any licenses that are required by national, state/province, and local codes.
• Experience with a variety of system types and manufacturers.
• Strong knowledge of industry codes such as IFC, NFPA, IBC, and NEC.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural, electrical, and mechanical drawings.
• Ability to maintain accurate and auditable records.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced service/construction team environment.
• Attention to detail with emphasis on accuracy and quality.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Ability to travel as needed.
