Business System Manager

Role Overview (This is not a remote role)

The Business Systems Manager is the internal owner and guardian of Hill’s IFS Cloud platform, supporting its implementation and taking responsibility for its ongoing governance, administration, adoption and continuous improvement. Working closely with business teams, IT and external partners, the role oversees configuration, change control, security, user access, releases, testing, training and data governance to ensure IFS Cloud remains reliable, secure and aligned with business priorities. The role also supports Hill’s wider business systems landscape, helping to ensure connected applications, integrations, data and reporting capabilities operate effectively together. By challenging unnecessary customisation and identifying opportunities for standardisation, automation and AI, the Business Systems Manager will help Hill maximise value from its ERP investment and wider digital transformation programme.

General Responsibilities

- Own governance, configuration and change control for IFS Cloud.

- Shape solution design during implementation and challenge unnecessary customisation.

- Support testing, training, supers-users and adoption across the business.

- Manage IFS and Implementation partner relationships so suppliers work within Hill’s governance.

- Champion data quality and master-data ownership, partnering with BI and Data teams.

- Maintain oversight of Hill’s wider business-system portfolio, including change management, integrations, suppliers, lifecycle management and roadmap planning.

- Help establish consistent governance and Lifecyle management across Hill’s wider business-systems landscape.

- Identify practical opportunities for AI and automation, including IFS Intelligence.

Technical Duties

- Govern user access, roles and segregation of duties with IT and Cyber Security.

- Plan and coordinate releases, patches and regression testing.

- Manage ERP configuration, chance control and system administration activities.

- Ensure appropriate documentation, governance processes and change records are maintained for configurations, procedure and business system changes.

- Support UAT, regression testing and system enhancement during and after implementation.

- Ensure effective master-data and data-quality management across the platform.

- Work with 3rd-party implementation partners to maintain system performance governance and compliance.

- Support the ongoing optimisation and continuous improvement of IFS Cloud and other priority business systems.
