Join us as a Manufacturing Process Planner and play a key role in optimizing manufacturing operations, balancing shop capacity, and supporting the successful execution of custom automation projects.
What We Offer
~1 min read- Review bills of materials (BOMs), engineering drawings, and specifications to ensure completeness and manufacturability.
- Partner with Supply Chain to evaluate make-versus-buy decisions and support sourcing strategies.
- Develop manufacturing plans, routing strategies, and scheduling priorities to maximize efficiency and shop utilization.
- Determine material requirements and stock sizes to support fabrication and machining operations.
- Monitor machine and fabrication shop capacity and provide short- and long-term planning recommendations.
- Schedule work based on machine capabilities, workforce skills, and production priorities.
- Coordinate resources to support both planned production and urgent customer requirements.
- Provide visibility into manufacturing constraints, delivery status, and production performance.
- Support decisions regarding in-house versus outsourced manufacturing activities.
- Maintain accurate work orders, production schedules, and manufacturing data.
- Ensure documentation and production information are organized and accessible to shop personnel.
- Track and communicate on-time delivery performance and key manufacturing metrics.
- Maintain current machine and fabrication shop dashboards and performance reporting.

- Associate degree in Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering Technology, Business, or a related field, or equivalent experience (calculated as two years of relevant work experience for each year of academic study).
- Experience with production planning, capacity management, and manufacturing operations in a low-volume, high-mix manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ERP/MRP systems.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T specifications.
- Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- APICS, APA, or related planning/scheduling certification is a plus.
- Current or prior JR Automation experience, or experience within the automation, custom machinery, or advanced manufacturing industry, is strongly preferred.
