Clinical Coordinator (MSN Required)

The Clinical Coordinator serves as the point of contact and liaison for all clinical sites utilized by the campus. The Clinical Coordinator is responsible for establishing and securing the clinical sites needed to implement the clinical component of the nursing programs. He/She solicits ideas for potential clinical sites from faculty, administration and staff and completes an assessment of the clinical site in relation to curricular and course outcomes. The Clinical Coordinator makes clinical site visits during student experiences ensuring all requirements delineated within clinical affiliation agreements are upheld. This role is fully on-site.

• →Develops effective business relationships and facilitates clear communication with clinical leadership
• →Secures clinical sites to assure full implementation of the clinical component of the nursing programs
• →Collaborates with course faculty to coordinate and arrange for the preceptorship experience
• →Meets regularly with Director of Nursing, Assistant Director of Nursing and Campus Director to forecast clinical site needs in the marketSolicits ideas for potential clinical sites from faculty, administration, staff and studentsActs as an ambassador for the College in all interactions with clinical facilities, clinical faculty, students and others
• →Completes assessments of potential sites through site visits, census assessments, and course evaluationsDocuments findings and makes recommendation for future site utilizationDevelops and facilitates Clinical Appreciation Day
• →Coordinates ordering and distribution of clinical facility appreciation gifts
• →Establishes and participates in regular meetings with all clinical sites. Communicates issues, concerns and needs related to use of clinical sites with Director of Nursing in a timely manner
• →Performs quarterly site visits during clinical experiences as agreed upon with Director of Nursing or Assistant Director of Nursing to observe and evaluate clinical component of the curriculum
• →Maintains awareness of student and faculty evaluations of clinical sites in determining appropriateness of sites in implementing the clinical component of the curriculum; shares results with clinical sites in a positive and professional manner with the goal of improving the educational experience and quality of care provided
• →Broadens the relationship with clinical partners to including the following tactics:
• →Coordinates Career Fairs at the College and clinical site
• →Recruits faculty to grow the College’s roster of potential faculty
• →Promotes the Hondros College RN-BSN program to clinical site staff nurses
• →Accepts equipment donations for campus nursing labs

• Master’s Degree in Nursing
• Experience: Three years in the practice of nursing as a registered nurse required; prior teaching in a professional nursing program preferred.
• Active RN licensure in the state of Ohio that has never been encumbered.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support certification (BCLS) compliant with the American Heart Association.

General Credentialing Requirements:

Applicants selected and receiving an offer of employment will be required to complete key credentialing requirements for clinical placements prior to being cleared for start. Full detailed information is provided at time of offer. A summary of requirements includes:

• Providing copies of official transcripts for all degrees earned
• Providing a copy of current American Heart Association BLS or ACLS CPR card
• Completion of a physical form (from within the last 12 months)
• Immunization documentation for:
• Hepatitis B
• MMR
• TDAP/Tetanus
• TB (2 step)
• Varicella
• FLU (October 1 – April 1 hires)
