Job Summary
We are seeking a highly driven and strategic Head of Expenses (AVP to VP level) to lead and oversee expense management, financial planning, cost optimization initiatives, and expense governance across the organization. The role is responsible for ensuring effective budget utilization, monitoring financial performance, implementing cost control measures, and driving operational efficiency while supporting overall business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and implementation of expense management strategies, policies, and controls across the organization
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, expense tracking, and variance analysis processes
- Monitor and evaluate operating expenses to ensure alignment with approved budgets and financial targets
- Identify opportunities for cost optimization and operational efficiencies while maintaining business effectiveness
- Partner closely with business leaders and department heads to support financial planning and expense-related decisions
- Prepare and present management reports, expense analyses, and recommendations to senior leadership
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and regulatory requirements
- Analyze financial trends and provide insights that support strategic business decisions
- Drive process improvements and automation initiatives to enhance reporting and expense management capabilities
- Lead, mentor, and manage finance teams to ensure high performance and continuous development
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or related field
- CPA designation is an advantage
- Minimum of 8–15 years of relevant finance, expense management, budgeting, or financial planning experience
- Must have leadership experience handling teams and managing large-scale financial operations
- Strong knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, cost management, and financial analysis
- Excellent analytical, leadership, stakeholder management, and communication skills
- Experience working within large organizations or multinational environments is an advantage
- Proficient in financial systems, reporting tools, and Microsoft Office applications
- Candidates coming from insurance and banking is a plus.
