The Smart Grid Technology Lab focuses on research in real-time simulation technologies, microgrid energy management, control systems, and other smart grid technologies. About the Role
~1 min readDevelop accurate simulation models of power systems and power electronics(PSCAD, EMTP, Hypersim, OPAL-RT,RSCAD, etc.).
Implement and validate simulation models to assess system performance under various scenarios and operating conditions.
Perform detailed analysis of power systems electromagnetic transient (EMT) simulation results and provide insights into grid stability, fault response, and dynamic behavior.
Collaborate with the research and development team to investigate emerging technologies and assist in preparing technical reports based on simulation findings.
Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field with a focus of Real-Time Simulation.
Strong experience in using EMT software (e.g., PSCAD, EMTP, Power Factory) , real-time simulation platforms (e.g., RTDS, OPAL-RT, Typhoon HIL) , or other simulation software (e.g., Simulink, PLECS) for power system/power electronics modeling and analysis.
Knowledge of power systems and power electronics modeling and analysis, including generation, transmission, and distribution systems.
Familiarity with hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing and real-time control systems is an asset.
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
