Responsibilities
~2 min readAs a Sales Account Manager - Automotive Accounts at IAV, an individual contributor responsible for driving business growth by acquiring new customers, expanding strategic relationships, and securing engineering services projects within the automotive and mobility industries. This role serves as a trusted partner to OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers, and technology companies, leading the full sales lifecycle from opportunity identification through contract award. The successful candidate will leverage industry expertise, a strong professional network, and a consultative sales approach to position the company's engineering capabilities and deliver long-term customer value.
- →Own and achieve sales, order intake, and revenue targets.
- →Develop and execute account growth strategies to drive new business opportunities.
- →Acquire new customers across automotive OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers, mobility companies, and technology providers.
- →Build and maintain a robust sales pipeline through networking, referrals, industry events, cold outreach, and direct customer engagement.
- →Establish and strengthen relationships with key decision-makers, including engineering leaders, procurement teams, executives, and stakeholders.
- →Lead the complete sales process, including prospecting, qualification, proposal development, negotiation, and contract execution.
- →Partner with engineering and technical teams to develop competitive customer solutions and value propositions.
- →Promote the company's engineering services with emphasis on Powertrain, Electrification, Software Defined Vehicle (SDV), ADAS, and emerging mobility technologies.
- →Maintain accurate customer, opportunity, and forecast information within CRM systems.
- →Represent the company at industry conferences, customer meetings, trade shows, and networking events.
- →Monitor market trends, competitive activity, and customer needs to identify growth opportunities.
- →Travel throughout North America and internationally as required.
- →Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
~1 min read- Bachelr's degree in Engineering, Business, Marketing, or a related field; advanced degree is a plus.
- 5+ years of business development, account management, or technical sales experience within automotive engineering services, consulting, or mobility solutions.
- Demonstrated success acquiring new customers and achieving revenue growth targets.
- Experience managing complex sales cycles and negotiating commercial agreements.
- Existing network within automotive OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers, mobility companies, or technology organizations preferred.
- Understanding of automotive engineering domains such as Powertrain, Electrification, Software Defined Vehicle (SDV), ADAS, Connected Vehicle, or Embedded Systems.
- Experience working with engineering consulting, project-based services, or outsourced engineering solutions is highly desirable.
- Proven hunter mentality with strong prospecting and new business acquisition capabilities.
- Excellent relationship-building and executive-level communication skills.
- Strong commercial acumen, negotiation, and contract management experience.
- Ability to identify customer needs and translate them into engineering services opportunities.
- Self-motivated and capable of working independently in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
- Strong presentation and consultative selling skills.
- Ability to manage multiple opportunities and priorities simultaneously.
- Proficiency with CRM tools and sales pipeline management.
- Results-oriented mindset with a focus on revenue growth and customer satisfaction.
- Willingness to travel as required.
