Armed Security Guard (Full-Time)

• →Maintain a high level of visibility at all times and surveil visitors in the Library and Museum for suspicious activities. 
• →Patrol the interior and exterior of the facility, as well as monitor a closed-circuit television feed to prevent unauthorized access and limit other incidents.
• →Secure and monitor access points during hours of operation, search bags as needed and monitor visitors throughout the facility.
• →Guards will register guests into the research room and ensure rules and protocols are followed.
• →When required, detain violators and prepare detailed incident reports.
• →Attend and provide security during special events and VIP visits involving high profile government officials.

• Be a citizen of the United States AND be at least 21 years of age
• Have the ability to pass all pre-employment physicals and testing as the job requires standing for extended periods of time
• Received a minimum high school diploma or GED
• Three years of military, security or law enforcement experience within the last 5 years 
• Applicants should be proficient with firearms and pass a firearms qualification course
• Have working knowledge of Microsoft Office

Shifts available:

Night shift

Employee may be required to occasionally lift and/or move moderate amounts of weight, typically less than 20 pounds, but may vary depending on the position. Regular and predictable attendance is essential.
