Floor Care Technician – $18–21/hr + Weekly Bonus | 2nd Shift

ServiceMaster Clean – Kalamazoo

Looking for steady work where you’ll learn a real trade? We’ll train you to strip and wax floors, clean carpet, restore tile and grout, and deep clean commercial buildings. Your pay goes up as you complete each skill. No experience is required, just a strong work ethic and a willingness to learn.

Pay

$18–21/hr to start, depending on experience
Weekly performance bonus worth up to $4,100/year (about $79/week), earned through quality inspections & attendance

Schedule

Second shift, Monday–Friday, typically 4:00 pm–12:30 am
Opportunities to volunteer for occasional Saturdays when a customer requests it
Work at commercial buildings throughout the Kalamazoo area

What You’ll Do

Clean and maintain carpet and hard floors in offices, schools, medical facilities, and other businesses
Strip, wax, buff, and polish floors; extract and spot-clean carpet; deep clean tile and grout
Sweep, mop, vacuum, and disinfect floors; clean elevators and stairs
Move furniture as needed to complete the work
Identify flooring types and choose the right products and procedures for each
Operate floor machines and equipment safely, using the proper PPE
Open and lock buildings and arm and disarm security systems
Keep track of supplies and equipment
Other duties as assigned

Able to communicate with customers and coworkers in English
Able to read product labels and cleaning instructions
Valid driver’s license and insurable driving record
Must pass a background check

Physical Requirements

Standing and walking for the full shift, with frequent pushing, kneeling, stooping, crouching, twisting, and reaching (including overhead)
Able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
