Reports to: IELTS Administrator

Location: Houston, Texas 

Description:  

ELS Houston - ELS Language Center is seeking a Certified IELTS Examiner to   
conduct one-to-one interviews with IELTS candidates to assess their spoken English   
according to set requirements.  

Job Duties:  

The duties of this position include, but are not limited to: 

• Examine test takers on Saturdays and Sundays.
• Maintain confidentiality and security in all aspects of IELTS.
• Comply fully with the Examiner Code of Practice and IELTS Confidentiality Undertaking
• Undertake scheduled standardization training and re-certification 
• Other duties as assigned 

Essential Qualifications, Skills, and Attributes:  

• A recognized qualification in Teaching English to Speakers of Other   
  Languages (TESOL) or recognized equivalent as part of a recognized   
  university award course.  
• An undergraduate or master’s degree or a qualification which can be   
  demonstrated to be equivalent to an undergraduate or master’s degree.  

 Education and Experience Required 

• At least 3 years’ full time (or the equivalent part time) relevant TESOL teaching  
  experience (minimum one-year post-certificate level qualification).
• The majority of teaching experience must be with adult students aged 16 and over.
