We are seeking an experienced Hydraulic Service Technician to join our team based in East Tamaki. This is a permanent, full-time role offering a competitive hourly rate of $38.00 to $44.00, depending on experience, with a guaranteed minimum of 40 hours per week.
The role involves the manufacture, servicing, repair, and commissioning of hydraulic and mechanical equipment both on-site and within the workshop, working across a range of major-brand hydraulic systems.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Analyse, troubleshoot, service, and repair hydraulic and mechanical systems and components
- →Manufacture, assemble, test, and commission hydraulic equipment
- →Diagnose faults within hydraulic and mechanical systems, with or without schematics
- →Read and interpret hydraulic and engineering drawings, including open loop, closed loop, PTO-powered, logic valve, servo, proportional, and regenerative circuits
- →Safely operate and change accumulators
- →Use hydraulic test, flushing, filtration, and purification equipment correctly
- →Select, install, and commission hydraulic hoses, pipes, and tubing, ensuring correct sizing, flow capacity, and compatibility
- →Complete job cards, timesheets, and required documentation accurately and daily
- →Liaise with customers and internal teams to maintain clear communication and high service standards
Requirements
~1 min read- Minimum 3 years’ relevant experience in hydraulic servicing, repair, or mechanical equipment
- Proven knowledge of major brand hydraulic components
- Strong technical diagnostic and fault-finding skills
- Ability to read and interpret hydraulic schematics and technical drawings
- Relevant trade qualification or equivalent industry experience
- Good communication skills and attention to detail
