The BMS Nuclear Med Technician independently performs all routine nuclear medicine/ nuclear cardiology procedures including SPECT imaging following prescribed protocols and procedures adhering to the NCR/state guidelines. Produces high quality diagnostic images utilizing computers to process images and access the EMR/HIS system.  Responsible for daily QC, equipment and hot lab maintenance. Demonstrates competence in the assessment, range of treatment, and knowledge of growth and development, appropriate to the age and disability of the patients treated.

  • Provides on-site supervision, while actively participating in clinical operations as needed to support clinical and patient flow functions as needed.
  • Serves as an on-site resource to provide coaching, guidance, and support for clinical and administrative staff.
  • Assist with staff scheduling and ongoing staff training.
  • Monitor work queues and ensures documentation is complete and there are no outstanding issues.
  • Assign work based on volume, acuity, and operational needs.
  • Monitor throughput to ensure efficient flow and optimal customer service.
  • Support the development, implementation, and adherences to policies and procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Establish positive and effective working relationships with interna and external customers.
  • Support performance improvement initiatives in partnership with the Practice Administrator.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Graduate of a Nuclear Medicine Program.
  • Clinical rotations through educational programs.
  • Strong leadership ability, good organizational skills, independent and critical thinking skills, sound judgment, and knowledge of legal aspects and liability of nursing practice.
  • Strong ability to communicate complex and/or controversial topics and concepts to a wide and diverse audience.

 

  • Six (6) months of experience in nuclear medicine.
  • Experience in Healthcare setting.
  • Certified in Nuclear Medicine by the American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT) or certified by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB), and Healthcare Provider CPR.
  • Act 34-PA Criminal Record Check from the PA State Police system
    • Incumbent will be scheduled based on operational need (rotate shifts, standby, on-call, etc.).
    • Travel may be expected locally between System locations.
