Description

Join IU Health Cardiology and become part of a supportive team in a fast-paced, high-volume clinic. This role is perfect for a Medical Assistant who enjoys staying busy, working independently, and providing excellent patient care. The clinic sees approximately 140-180 patients daily and offers the opportunity to build strong clinical skills while working alongside an experienced team.

  • Full-time
  • Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM
  • No weekends or holidays
  • Located at 1801 N. Senate Blvd., Indianapolis
  • Parking garage available
  • No travel required

Responsibilities

  • →Room and prepare patients for appointments
  • →Perform EKGs
  • →Contact patients as needed
  • →Manage faxing and clinical documentation
  • →Support daily clinic operations and administrative workflows
  • →Assist providers in delivering exceptional patient care

Requirements

  • Certified Medical Assistant required
  • 0-1 years of experience required
  • New graduates encouraged to apply
  • Clinical practicum or lab experience accepted
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate with a team

✓AHA Basic Life Support for healthcare workers certification required. Other advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
✓High school diploma or equivalent required. Graduation from a Medical Assistant program preferred.
✓Current certification in medical assisting required from America Association of Medical Assistants (CMA), American Medical Technologists (RMA), National Health Career Association (CCMA), National Center for competency Testing (NCMA), and/or American Medical Certification Association (CMAC).
✓Knowledge of OSHA, CLIA, and ADA required.
✓Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding required.
✓TB validated (to administer or read) or validation obtained within 6 months of hire required.
✓Knowledge of Business Unit Quality Programs, Meaningful Use and Standard Work Programs and concepts within 6 months of hire.
✓Knowledge of standard laboratory and medical procedures.
✓Knowledge of insurance plans and third-party payers.
✓Ability to master standard clinical competencies per current Clinical policy, Point of Care and Skills Competency checklists.
✓Requires basic math and accurate data collection and entry skills.
