Our teams shape strategic initiatives, have passion, and work to improve health outcomes. They advance our mission and exemplify excellence, compassion, teamwork and purpose in all that they do. Indiana University Health is seeking individuals who embody these values to join our Project Planning and Operations team in the role of Project Coordinator. This position is a full time, hybrid role (Monday – Thursday in office, flexibility to work from home on Fridays as needed). This position is located downtown Indianapolis, IN. 

The Project Coordinator, Project Planning and Operations, Design and Construction supports programming, operational planning, and targeted improvement initiatives for the new IU Health Medical Center Campus. This role assists in translating the project vision, guiding principles, and design concepts into actionable plans by coordinating activities, tracking milestones, and communication across local, regional, and system stakeholders. The Project Coordinator plays a key role in supporting day-to-day project execution, documentation, and alignment to help drive efficient operations and successful readiness of the new facilities.

Role Responsibilities

  • Provides project management support to leaders and team members. 
  • Assists with and supports team planning, execution, monitoring progress, and delivering end results. 
  • Collaborates across teams to ensure alignment. 
  • Assesses situations, gathers appropriate information and input, and makes recommendations to leaders. 
  • Ensures quality customer service and professional representation of the team and the department.

 

Candidate Qualifications

Candidates for the position will be evaluated according to the following criteria and competencies.

Preferred:

  • Prior project management or project work. 
  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
  • Experience working with and using Microsoft Visio and Outlook. 

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent years of experience required.
  • Clinical license and/or other certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
  • 0-3 years of experience is required.
  • Experience with matrix organization and complex work environment a plus.
  • Experience exhibiting professional judgment and diplomacy in handling unexpected problems and frequent interruptions is required.
  • Requires basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
