Cardiac Medical Critical Care (CMCC)

The Cardiac Medical Critical Care (CMCC) unit provides specialized care for critically ill patients requiring advanced cardiac and medical intensive care services. Nurses on CMCC care for high-acuity patients with complex cardiovascular, respiratory, and multi-system conditions while working alongside an interdisciplinary team of physicians, advanced practice providers, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, and nursing colleagues. This fast-paced environment offers opportunities to develop advanced critical care skills while utilizing evidence-based practice to deliver exceptional patient outcomes.

Shift: Full Time Nights 

Patient Population/Services

• Acute and chronic heart failure management
• Cardiogenic shock and advanced hemodynamic monitoring
• Post-cardiac intervention and cardiac stabilization
• Complex arrhythmia management
• Respiratory failure requiring advanced critical care support
• Sepsis and multi-organ dysfunction
• Mechanical circulatory support devices
• Critical care patients requiring multidisciplinary management

Qualifications

• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred. 

• Current Registered Nurse license in the State of Indiana or eligibility for Indiana licensure. 

• Graduate of a nationally accredited nursing program. 

  • Candidates who have not graduated from a nationally accredited program may be considered if they possess more than two years of acute care experience. Exceptions require Chief Nursing Officer approval.

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) required. 

• Previous critical care, cardiac, ICU, PCU, step-down, telemetry, emergency department, or related acute care experience preferred. 

• Strong critical-thinking, prioritization, communication, and assessment skills required. 

• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.
