About This Position:
- Full Time, 5 days a week, evenings and some weekend availability needed
- Supports Respiratory Teams at Bedford, Bloomington and Paoli Hospitals
- Travel between facilities needed for education purposes
- Location: Bloomington Hospital
The Respiratory Care Educator is responsible for coordinating and providing educational programs for respiratory care staff, students, and other healthcare professionals. This role supports new employee orientation, continuing education initiatives, competency development, and individualized instruction. The Educator partners with colleges and universities to facilitate clinical experiences and provide instruction for respiratory care students. This position also leads and supports departmental projects and quality initiatives as assigned.
Requirements
~1 min read- Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Care, Education, or a related field required.
- Graduate of a regionally accredited Respiratory Care program required.
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential through the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) required.
- Current Indiana Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license required.
Basic Life Support (BLS) and ACLS and NRP certification required and must be maintained in accordance with department policies.
- Previous experience in respiratory care required.
- Prior teaching, training, or clinical education experience preferred.
- Strong organizational, analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills required.
- Ability to work independently and effectively manage multiple priorities.
- Demonstrated project management and coordination skills.
- Proficiency with standard computer software applications and educational technology tools.
- Collaborates with academic partners to coordinate student clinical experiences.
- Maintains educational records, training documentation, and competency tracking.
- Supports departmental initiatives, special projects, and process improvement efforts.
- Serves as an educational resource for respiratory care staff and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
