• Perform more complex coding assignments
• Meet productivity and accuracy standards
• Work coding denials and pre-bill edits

• Independently code complex cases
• Proficient in both inpatient and outpatient coding
• Function fully independently within the role

• →Review clinical documentation and diagnostic results
• →Assign accurate ICD-10-CM, CPT, & HCPCS codes
• →Ensure accurate APC assignment
• →Resolve pre-bill coding edits
• →Work coding-related denials
• →Maintain coding quality, productivity, and compliance standards
• →Provide operational support as needed to remain current on workflows and functions

• Requires high school diploma or equivalent.
  • RHIT or CCS credential required.
  • Requires a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in ICD-9; CPT code assignment and APC grouping.
  • Requires ability to read, understand and interpret medical records and other treatment documentation.
  • Requires high level of concentration.
  • Requires the ability to function effectively in a high-volume environment.
  • Requires effective written and verbal communication skills to communicate with physicians.
