Job Summary: The Commissioning Technician I supports commissioning activities in data center environments including testing, verification, and documentation of electrical systems. This role assists with pre-functional and functional testing of UPS systems, generators, ATS/STS, and electrical distribution systems under the direction of senior commissioning staff.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Assist with pre-functional and functional commissioning testing activities
• Support setup and preparation of testing equipment and commissioning work areas
• Perform basic field verification checks under supervision
• Assist with labeling verification, device checks, and system walkdowns
• Collect and record field data during commissioning activities
• Follow commissioning procedures, test scripts, and direction from senior staff
• Support coordination with field installation teams and project stakeholders
• Support energized readiness activities under direction of senior staff
• Maintain clean and organized work areas
• Follow all Company safety policies, customer site requirements, and established safe work practices at all times
• Accurately complete and submit timecards and other required administrative records in a timely manner
• Travel regularly to job sites, which may include overnight stays
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty mentioned satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or ability required.

Education: High school diploma, general education degree (G.E.D.) required; technical or electrical training preferred

Experience:
• Two years of electrical, construction, or data center experience

Technical Skills:
• Computer and Microsoft Office proficiency
• Knowledge of electrical distribution systems and data center infrastructure
• Ability to follow commissioning procedures and test scripts
• Familiarity with electrical testing tools such as multimeters preferred
• Ability to read basic electrical drawings preferred
• Knowledge of NEC and electrical safety concepts preferred

Physical Requirements:
• Must be able to pass pre-employment screening that includes background and drug testing
• Must have a valid driver’s license and a driving record that meets Company requirements
• Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds regularly
• Ability to stand, bend, climb, and work overhead for extended periods
• Ability to safely use ladders, lifts, and power tools
• Ability to work in active construction and live data center environments
• Ability to wear the required personal protective equipment (PPE)
• Ability to work long and unpredictable hours and flexible schedules, including nights and weekends as required
• Ability to travel regionally and nationally up to 75% of the time
