Night Auditor

We are seeking a Night Auditor to oversee the smooth and seamless operation of Iniala throughout the night, combining exceptional Guest service with accurate financial and administrative control.

The Night Auditor acts as a trusted overnight presence and primary point of contact for Guests, while ensuring the accuracy of the hotel’s daily financial records, systems, and reporting. The role also oversees the closing of all restaurant and bar outlets, ensuring revenue is accurately reconciled before the new business day begins.

The ideal candidate is calm, composed, and highly detail-oriented, with the ability to work independently while maintaining the refined standards of service, discretion, and professionalism.

• Perform the end-of-day/night audit in Opera PMS, closing out the current business date and rolling the system over to the next day.
• Verify that all charges, adjustments and discounts have the appropriate authorisation and supporting documentation.
• Reconcile cash, credit card, and city ledger transactions, investigating and resolving any out-of-balance conditions before completing the audit.
• Post room and tax charges, and review no-show and early-departure charges for accuracy.
• Generate and distribute daily management reports to department heads each morning.

• Ensure that all restaurants, bars, and F&B outlets have closed their point-of-sale terminals for the business date before commencing the night audit.
• Run outlet closing and end-of-day reports and reconcile total outlet revenue, discounts, voids, against the F&B team's paperwork.
• Transfer any outstanding restaurant charges posted to Guest rooms from Simphony to Opera, ensuring that room charges accurately match the Guest folio.
• Collect and review all voids and manager discounts in the POS with the outlet manager or F&B duty manager, ensuring the appropriate sign-off has been completed.
• Confirm that all outlets are properly secured once closing procedures are complete.

• Act as the manager on duty overnight, serving as the primary point of contact for Guest requests, concerns, and emergencies.
• Welcome and assist Guests throughout the overnight operation, including checking in and checking out Guests, processing walk-ins and late arrivals, and managing room assignments as required.
• Respond promptly, professionally, and courteously to Guest enquiries, complaints, and special requests, escalating matters appropriately when required.
• Monitor and respond to phone, email, and messaging enquiries during overnight hours.

• Conduct periodic walk-throughs of the property, public areas, and back-of-house to ensure that safety, security, and cleanliness standards are maintained.
• Respond promptly and appropriately to alarms, security incidents, and emergencies, following established emergency procedures and notifying the appropriate personnel.
• Monitor CCTV and access control systems where applicable, and maintain an accurate overnight incident/log book.

• Prepare and distribute the daily night audit report package to management before the start of the business day.
• Maintain accurate records of cash floats, deposits, and paid-outs, and prepare bank deposits where required.
• Communicate operational issues, Guest incidents, and outstanding matters clearly to the morning shift through comprehensive handover notes and briefings.
• Support other administrative and clerical tasks as assigned by the Front Office Manager or Financial Controller.

• A minimum of two years’ experience in a similar role, preferably within a luxury hotel or high-end hospitality environment, with previous night audit or night reception experience considered an asset.
• Previous experience in hotel finance, reconciliation, cashiering, or night audit procedures is highly desirable.
• Excellent communication skills, with fluency in spoken and written English. Knowledge of additional languages is considered an asset.
• Working knowledge of hotel property management systems, including Opera, and point-of-sale systems, including Micros/Simphony, is required. Hands-on night audit experience in Opera is strongly preferred.
• Strong numerical and analytical skills, with excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple responsibilities independently.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with guests whilst maintaining a discreet and professional approach.
