We're looking for an Engineering Manager to lead the Gravity Core Platform team.

Gravity is Innovaccer's multi-tenant Data Activation Platform (DAP): the control-plane and data-plane infrastructure that ingests, standardizes, and governs healthcare data at scale for every product built on top of it. The Gravity Core team owns the foundation everything else is built on: tenant lifecycle and multi-tenancy, PTH (the cross-plane API gateway that handles authentication, authorization, and tenant-scoped routing for every service call), identity and access management, and the shared services and datastores that downstream Gravity teams (ETL/AI orchestration, enterprise search, AI agents) depend on to run.

You'll own the roadmap, architecture direction, and delivery of the foundational infrastructure that every tenant and every downstream Gravity service relies on, while building and growing a team of strong platform engineers. This is a role for someone who enjoys owning hard infrastructure problems (reliability, multi-tenancy, security) and who wants to lead people, not just systems.

People Leadership

• Lead, mentor, and grow a team of backend/platform engineers, owning hiring, performance management, and career development.
• Run day-to-day engineering execution: sprint planning, technical reviews, and clear stakeholder communication on progress and risk.

Technical Roadmap & Architecture

• Own the technical roadmap for Gravity's core platform: control plane services, compute/data plane architecture, multi-tenant isolation, and tenant lifecycle management.
• Drive design and delivery of PTH, the platform's cross-plane API gateway, including authentication, authorization, and tenant-scoped routing for every service call.
• Partner with staff/principal engineers and architects on decisions around scalability, multi-cloud deployment models (customer-managed, Innovaccer-managed, and hybrid), and security posture.

Reliability, Security & Operations

• Own platform reliability: SLAs, incident response, and cost efficiency across a multi-tenant, healthcare-grade environment (HIPAA, encryption-in-transit, PrivateLink-only networking).
• Set and uphold engineering standards (code quality, testing, observability, and on-call practices) for infrastructure that other teams treat as a hard dependency.

Collaboration

• Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, SRE/DevOps, Security, and dependent engineering teams to align priorities and de-risk shared roadmaps.

Must-Haves

• 10+ years in software engineering, including 3+ years directly managing engineering teams.
• Strong hands-on background in distributed systems, Kubernetes, and cloud infrastructure (AWS and/or Azure).
• Experience building or operating multi-tenant SaaS platforms, API gateways, or identity/authorization systems at scale.
• A track record leading platform or infrastructure teams that other engineering teams depend on, and comfort owning uptime and reliability, not just features.
• Working knowledge of microservices architectures, event-driven systems (e.g., Kafka), and modern data infrastructure (e.g., Spark/Databricks, Snowflake, Postgres, MongoDB, Redis).
• Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to represent technical tradeoffs clearly to both engineers and leadership.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Good to Have

• Experience in healthcare technology, with familiarity with HIPAA, FHIR, or healthcare interoperability standards.
• Experience with GitOps tooling (e.g., ArgoCD) and workflow orchestration platforms (e.g., Temporal).
• Background in secrets management, network security, and zero-trust or PrivateLink-based architectures.
• Experience operating platforms across multiple deployment models (customer-hosted, vendor-hosted, hybrid).

Innovaccer builds software that helps hospitals, clinics, and health insurance companies make sense of all the scattered data they deal with every day (patient records, appointments, insurance claims, lab results) and turns it into something useful and actionable.

Think of a typical hospital: patient information often lives in a dozen different systems that don't talk to each other well. This causes delays in scheduling, slows down doctors, and makes it harder to catch health problems early. Innovaccer's platform connects all of that data together, and increasingly, uses AI "agents" to actually do some of the manual work for healthcare teams, such as scheduling appointments, preparing insurance paperwork, or drafting clinical notes, so that staff can spend more time with patients and less time on admin work.

Some of the largest healthcare systems in the US, including CommonSpirit Health, Atlantic Health, and Banner Health, use Innovaccer's platform today.

The company is also investing heavily in this direction: in June 2026, Innovaccer signed a multi-year partnership with AWS to run its AI agents at a much larger scale, using AWS's cloud AI tools (Amazon Bedrock) and healthcare-specific data infrastructure (AWS HealthLake). This is a strong signal of where the platform, and this engineering team, is headed next.
