We’re looking for a Commercial Field Adjuster, Property Large Loss to join our growing team!

Responsibilities

→Manage, investigate, analyze, negotiate and resolve large and complex commercial property claims generally with exposures over $1M or involving specialized kind of loss
→Engage and manage internal and external counsel, consultants, adjusters, accountants, appraisers and engineers to confirm coverage, determine liability and assess damages
→Mentor, guide and provide technical advice to regional file handlers to ensure consistent and effective claims handling and support long term succession planning
→Train colleagues on complex claims handling
→Work with Underwriting, Loss Prevention and other stakeholders to identify potential risks, hazards and trends, sharing feedback and lessons learned
→Provide brilliant customer service to brokers, customers, and colleagues
→Deliver all key performance indicators as it relates to loss development and loss adjustment expenses, claims leakage control and expense management
→Leverage your expertise in a creative, continuous improvement environment to support a model of best practice operations
→Effectively negotiate claims when appropriate
→Attend settlement conferences and trials

A problem-solver and able to gather information, evaluate a situation and negotiate the next steps toward a solution

A planner and able to effectively organize to establish an effective strategy
A strong collaborator and have a passion for mentoring and coaching others
10+ years of experience with the direct handling of large and complex commercial property claims.
Minimum of 5 years of relevant field experience, including conducting on-site investigations and assessing property damages.
Appropriate knowledge of all relevant regulatory and legal requirements applicable to the position
Undergraduate Degree or CIP designation (asset)
Travel required
Valid drivers license
Bilingualism (French/English) is an asset
