Integrated Services for Behavioral Health (ISBH) is a community-minded, forward-thinking behavioral health organization helping people along the road to health and well-being. We meet people in their homes and communities and help connect them to the resources. We serve Southeastern and Central Ohio with a comprehensive array of behavioral health and other services, working with local partners to promote healthy people and strong communities. Our services are intended to be collaborative and personalized for the individual.
The Vocational Rehabilitation Health Worker supports individuals recovering from substance use disorders in developing vocational goals, building job readiness skills, and securing and maintaining employment. This role provides individualized vocational assessments, employment planning, and job readiness training. The position also involves coordinating supportive services, collaborating with recovery-friendly employers, maintaining required documentation and billing standards, and helping clients meet benefit-related work requirements.
The pay range for this position is $19.00 to $22.26 an hour based on experience, education, and/or licensure.
Essential Functions:
- Assist clients with meeting the work requirements to maintain their benefits such as SNAP, Housing, Medicaid, etc.
- Conduct vocational assessments, including work history, interests, strengths and barriers
- Develop individualized vocational or employment plans aligned with treatment goals
- Provide job readiness training (résumés, applications, interviewing, workplace behavior)
- Educate clients on how employment affects benefits (SSI/SSDI, Medicaid, etc.) using evidence-based tools.
- Coach clients on soft skills, time management, and coping strategies for workplace stress
- Address common employment barriers related to SUD (gaps in employment, criminal history, stigma)
- Identify and cultivate relationships with recovery-friendly employers
- Match clients with appropriate employment, training, or educational opportunities
- Support clients during job placement and onboarding
- Monitor progress and adjust vocational plans as needed
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation in accordance with agency and funding requirements
- Connect clients to supportive services such as transportation, housing, childcare, and education
- Maintain knowledge of local workforce resources, training programs, and benefits systems
- Meets people wherever they may be with support for self-management of health and well-being
- Travel within designated service areas
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements:
Education:

A high School diploma or GED equivalent is required
- A bachelor’s degree in rehabilitation counseling, social work, human services, or related field is preferred.
- Certification such as CDCA, LCDC II or related credentials is preferred.
Experience:
- 3 years of experience working in and/or a nonprofit administrative management environment is required
- Experience working with individuals with substance use disorders or co-occurring conditions is preferred.
- Experience in vocational rehabilitation, workforce development, or supported employment is preferred.
- Experience with multi-needed individuals and families.
- Willing to participate in and lead cross-systems team-building activities.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Strong communication, motivational interviewing, and case management skills are required.
- Knowledge of local labor market and employment laws (ADA, EEOC) is preferred.
- Broad knowledge of community service systems.
- Excellent organizational skills are required
- Ability to bill Medicaid without restrictions is required
- A valid driver's license and the ability to operate a motor vehicle is required
- An appropriate level of auto insurance coverage is required
- Ability to manage deadlines within a fast-paced, high-volume environment is required
- Ability to operate in an Internet-based, automated office environment is required
- Ability to maintain high-speed internet connection is required
Physical Requirements:
