Position Summary:
The Outpatient Child Therapist provides individual, group, and/or family therapy to children and adolescents experiencing emotional, behavioral, developmental, or mental health challenges. The therapist works collaboratively with caregivers, schools, and other community providers to support the child’s emotional well-being, promote resilience, and address symptoms interfering with daily functioning.
This role requires clinical knowledge, cultural sensitivity, and a compassionate, client-centered approach. Services may be delivered in-person or telehealth, within the clinic setting, depending on client and program needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive, strength-based assessments and develop individualized treatment plans in collaboration with youth and families.
- Deliver evidence-based and developmentally appropriate outpatient therapy to children, adolescents, and families.
- Utilize a variety of clinical modalities including CBT, play therapy, trauma-informed care, family systems approaches, or other appropriate methods.
- Monitor progress toward treatment goals and adjust interventions as necessary.
- Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation in accordance with agency, ethical, and regulatory standards.
- Participate in regular clinical supervision and case consultations.
- Collaborate with psychiatrists, schools, primary care providers, and other service systems to ensure integrated and coordinated care.
- Respond to clinical crises with appropriate interventions and referrals as needed.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical and legal standards, including HIPAA and mandated reporting laws.
- Participate in professional development, continuing education, and training opportunities to support growth and licensure.
- Uphold all agency, state, and federal privacy and documentation regulations, including HIPAA and mandated reporting.
- Assist with other clinical duties as assigned.
