As a Development Tools Software Engineer, you will design, develop, and optimize software tools that support silicon debug, validation, and production processes. Your contributions will directly enable Intel's internal and external engineering teams to build cutting-edge silicon and software products. In this role, you will develop innovative software solutions that enhance tool functionality, ensure seamless hardware-software integration, and help bring Intel silicon products to market efficiently and effectively.

You will join a team within Intel that is dedicated to the development of software tools and systems critical to silicon design, manufacturing, validation, and system integration. Our group collaborates across multiple business units to deliver impactful solutions, including debug tools, validation content execution platforms, and manufacturing test systems.

These tools are utilized by both Intel teams and external technology partners, playing an integral role in achieving Intel's mission to drive innovation and technological excellence globally.

Responsibilities

  • →Develop and enhance software tools for silicon debug, validation, and manufacturing test processes. Collaborate with validation engineering teams and external customers to ensure tools effectively leverage the latest silicon debug features.
  • →Debug and fix software issues, developer-owned validation, and create functional documentation.
  • →Provide technical support to customers, assisting with tool usage and identifying root causes for silicon power-on issues.
  • →Work on hardware-software integration and debug for tools incorporating JTAG, I3C, SMBus, or silicon TAP topology.
  • →Mentor and provide technical guidance to less experienced engineers, fostering growth and innovation within the team.
  • →Contribute to agile development processes, including scrum and kanban, to ensure efficient project execution.

 

  • Advanced communication skills and willingness to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Interested in Intel Architecture and silicon debug.
