The Forklift Operator is responsible for safely operating powered industrial trucks (PIT) to transport, stack, rack, stage, load, and unload materials throughout a warehouse or manufacturing environment. This role requires a strong commitment to workplace safety, accurate material handling, and maintaining efficient warehouse operations. The ideal candidate will have hands-on forklift experience and the ability to work effectively in a high-volume environment.

Safely operate forklifts and other powered industrial trucks to transport, stack, rack, stage, load, and unload materials.

Move materials throughout the warehouse and ensure products are properly positioned and stored.

Load and unload semi-trailers, trucks, and other freight according to established safety and operating procedures.

Read and accurately interpret shipping manifests, Bills of Lading (BOL), and other material-handling documentation.

Use handheld RF scanners and warehouse inventory systems to track and maintain accurate material movement and inventory records.

Perform inventory audits and report discrepancies as required.

Follow OSHA requirements, workplace safety procedures, PPE standards, and all facility-specific safety policies.

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area while supporting overall warehouse and production operations.
Requirements

Valid OSHA-compliant Forklift Certification.
Previous experience operating powered industrial trucks (PIT) in a warehouse, manufacturing, or distribution environment.
Ability to safely operate forklifts for material transportation, stacking, racking, staging, loading, and unloading.
Basic numerical accuracy and ability to read shipping manifests and Bills of Lading (BOL).
Ability to use handheld RF scanners and warehouse inventory systems.
Strong understanding of workplace safety procedures, OSHA requirements, and PPE standards.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work 8–12 hour shifts involving extended periods of sitting, standing, bending, walking, and material handling.
2+ years of continuous forklift operating experience in a high-volume warehouse or distribution environment.
Experience with enterprise Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), such as SAP, Manhattan, Oracle, or similar platforms.
Experience performing inventory audits and maintaining accurate inventory records.
Experience operating Class II Stand-Up Reach Trucks or Order Pickers.
Experience operating Class III Electric Pallet Jacks.
Experience working with high-bay racking systems, including racks above 25 feet.
Class I – Sit-Down Electric Forklift.
Class IV/V – Internal Combustion Counterbalance Forklift.
Class II – Stand-Up Reach Truck / Order Picker.
Class III – Electric Pallet Jack.
