The American Heart Association has an excellent opportunity for a Region Business Operations Director. This remote opportunity has a location that is flexible within the Western States region (Alaska, Arizona, California, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, and Washington).
Under general supervision, this position provides complex project management as part of the Office of the EVP to ensure strategic business alignment and communication across key internal and external stakeholders. This includes advanced project and stewardship management maintaining the highest level of integrity, confidentiality and diplomacy.
This person will: cultivate a network of meaningful volunteer partnerships to advance the mission of the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association. Provide timely direction, framework and resources to volunteers while at the same time relying on their expertise, abilities and willingness to leverage their networks to drive the goals of the organization. Share meaningful opportunities for volunteers so they can utilize their passion to further the mission of the organization. Give recognition to volunteers for their efforts to help ensure their success and drive satisfaction. Hold each other accountable, both volunteers and staff, while being accessible and build collaborative staff-volunteer partnerships that are based on a foundation of mutual trust. Create a collaborative environment where staff from various functions work together to achieve results across health, revenue and volunteerism goals for the organization.

Responsibilities

- →Manages the communication with the Western States Region Board of Directors and serves as the project staff lead for meetings and cultivation/recognition efforts. Prepares and distributes meeting materials in coordination with national and regional departments including financial update and program outcomes; creates dashboards, presentations and summaries that present information in a concise and clear format, surveys members for meeting effectiveness and provides and implements recommendations to optimize volunteer engagement.
- →Manages communication and cultivation efforts with key donors, volunteers and other stakeholders in collaboration with national and regional departments. Ensures that regular contact is maintained, communications and/or meetings are arranged to support ongoing relationship building.
- →Functions as the project staff lead for recurring and ad-hoc internal strategic and tactical planning meetings with Senior Management Team, Executive Directors, and other department teams. Develops agendas, presentations, talking points and materials in collaboration and coordination with national and regional departments. Records notes and action items and ensures follow-up on agreed upon deliverables.
- →Manages staff recognition and cultivation efforts including touchpoints for personal occasions.
- →Facilitates cross-functional coordination, communication and outreach to ensure effective alignment of market, region and association-wide planning and execution.
- →Provides executive level administrative support for EVP including calendar, travel and expense management.
Requirements
~1 min read- 3 or more years of project management experience with C-suite executives in comparable organizations with demonstrated excellence in resourcefulness and organization/planning
- Experience in internal and external communications, partnership development/donor stewardship and fundraising.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications

- Experience and interest in direct outreach to establish new and stewarding existing relationships
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in volunteer engagement and cultivation
