Uniform and Laundry Attendant - Grand Canyon South Rim

We’re hiring a Uniform and Laundry Attendant to Live. Work. Explore. at the south rim of the Grand Canyon!

Work in all phases of the Uniform Center and Main Laundry and meet all shift production standards.

• →The Lodging department is committed to creating a culture of guest service at Grand Canyon National Park. All our roles in the lodging department, regardless of front or back of house, are considered guest facing/guest service positions. Our expectation is that this role will play a key part in achieving exceptional guest service.  
• →Provide quality customer service to employees utilizing the Uniform Center. 
• →Issue uniforms to new employees and employees changing jobs, units or departments. 
• →Maintain records of uniform transactions. 
• →Exchange soiled uniforms for clean uniforms. 
• →Assess condition of uniforms and replace with new uniform when warranted. 
• →Assist in washing, mending, fitting, and stocking uniforms as directed. 
• →Perform Laundry Utility duties as assigned. 
• →Assist with uniform and linen inventories as assigned. 
• →Strictly follow all company and departmental policies and procedures, including lifting, loading and handling of linens, use of machinery, handling of biohazard designated linens and uniforms, and use of detergents and cleaners. 
• →Maintain safe body mechanics and a safe work zone while working and report any unsafe conditions immediately. 
• →Prepare soiled linen for shipment, including sorting, counting, and loading semi-truck; prepare linen for delivery to housekeeping and F&B units, including stocking shelves and loading bins. 
• →Wear required personal protective equipment or weather appropriate attire for work in all four (4) weather seasons/conditions. 
• →Adhere to all Sustainability programs as trained. 
• →Assist with housekeeping duties of the Uniform Center and Main Laundry. 
• →Other duties as assigned. 

• Must have good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with and project the image of professionalism, friendliness, and willingness to provide personalized service to our varied customer and employee base. 
• Ability to meet physical requirements of the position, which include repetitive motion of all extremities and the back including continual bending, stooping, twisting, lifting, and long periods of standing/walking.  
• Ability to push or pull laundry bins loaded with 200 to 250lbs of wet or dry laundry. 
• Ability to maintain high quality of work and high energy while taking more than 15,000 – 20,000 steps per work day at an elevation of 7,000 feet. 
• Maintain the company’s Core Values and Mission Statement in every day work and project this level of service to our guests. 

Physical Requirements include:

Constantly: Handle, lift/carry up to 10 lbs.

Frequently: Stand, walk, sit, reach above shoulders, squat/kneel, bend, lift/carry up to 50 lbs, push/pull up to 100 lbs.

Occasionally:Reach outward, crawl, lift/carry up to 100 lbs
