The Intern will provide general administrative support to Human Resources Unit in carrying out HR related tasks including but not limited to local recruitment, administrative tasks, and personnel files filing.
- Under the overall supervision of the HR Officer and the direct supervision of the Human Resources Assistant.
- Provide clerical assistance for the smooth running of the Human Resources processes and activities in the office.
- Provide general assistance in recruitment processes including but not limited to circulation of vacancy announcements, interview arrangements, preparation of materials necessary for the interviews and technical test, support with reference checks, sending out messages to candidates, etc.
- Maintain orderly personnel files of staff, instructions, bulletins and other documents in the Human Resources Unit (electronic and/or hard copies).
1. Assist in making sure personnel files are complete and filed.
2. Assist in e-filing of personnel file in WAVE HCM. - Support the organization of meetings, training activities and other Human Resources events by carrying out logistical activities such as arrangement of meeting facilities, equipment, materials, preparation of correspondence and drafting and assembling of documents.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Gain experience in organization, management, and international cooperation activities.
- Gain a better understanding of IOM’s work, as an inter-governmental organization in the field of Migration, and work on formulating and editing institutional strategies, priorities and workplans.
- The Intern can also access online training courses at the disposal of all IOM staff.
- The Intern will have the possibility to interact with IOM staff within Headquarters and IOM Missions.
Requirements
~1 min read- Currently enrolled in the final academic year of a Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management, Psychology, Industrial Psychology, Behavioral Sciences, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or a related field;
- Recent graduate (within one year of graduation) in any of the above disciplines.
- Strong academic standing and demonstrated interest in Human Resources, talent acquisition, organizational development, learning and development, or employee relations are desirable.
- Knowledge of HR principles and practices gained through coursework, research, student organizations, or previous internships.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
For this internship, fluency in English is required (oral and written).
Proficiency of language(s) required will be specifically evaluated during the selection process, which may include written and/or oral assessments.

Responsibilities
~2 min readDepending on experience and location, interns are granted a small monthly stipend to help offset costs. Interns benefiting from an internship allowance or scholarship granted by their university or other sponsoring body that includes financial remuneration or credits for coursework will not be eligible for the stipend.
IOM covers Interns against occupational accidents and illnesses under the Compensation Plan (CP), free of charge, for the duration of the internship. IOM does not provide evacuation or medical insurance for reasons related to non-occupational accidents and illnesses. Interns are responsible for their own medical insurance for non-occupational accident or illness and will be required to provide written proof of such coverage before commencing work.
