The International Organization for Migration (IOM), the United Nations Migration Agency, is the leading intergovernmental organization in the field of migration and works closely with governmental, intergovernmental, and non‑governmental partners. IOM promotes the orderly and humane management of migration, advances international cooperation on migration issues, supports practical solutions to emerging challenges, and provides humanitarian assistance to migrants in need, including internally displaced person.

1. Assist in the coordination and monitoring of the operational, administrative and financial aspects of the project in accordance with IOM policies and practices as well as donor’s requirements.
2. ​Keep the supervisor informed on the status of project implementation; identify gaps and suggest actions to improve implementation. 
3. ​Participate in the development and adjustment of work plans, project budgets, Monitoring & Evaluation tools and standard operations procedures.  
4. ​Coordinate the collection, verification and analysis of data and background information; update information management systems and social media platforms on project related activities including project awareness and visibility, summaries, press releases and other relevant materials. 
5. ​Coordinate timely preparation and dissemination of project reports in accordance with IOM procedures and donor requirements.  
6. ​Liaise and coordinate with donors, partners, United Nations agencies, local authorities and stakeholders and government counterparts.  
7. ​Contribute to the planning, development, organization and delivery of capacity building activities targeting IOM staff, government and civil society partners, implementing partners and communities.  
8. ​Attend relevant conferences, workshops, working groups, interagency coordination meetings, and other forums.
9. ​Participate in the preparation of project proposals and a diverse range of communication products, concept notes and other planning documents.
10. ​Supervise and provide training and technical guidance to project staff.
11. ​Undertake duty travel relating to project implementation, monitoring visits, project assessments, liaison with counterparts, etc. 
12. ​Perform other related duties as required

• • Bachelor’s degree in Political or Social Sciences, International Relations, Development Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, Law or related fields from an accredited academic institution with two years of relevant professional experience; or,

• • ​Master’s degree in the above-mentioned fields

Accredited Universities are those listed in the UNESCO World Higher Education Database.

• Experience in shelter, land, housing, community infrastructure, or humanitarian assistance programs.
• Experience supporting the planning, implementation, and monitoring of Shelter and NFI (Non-Food Items) projects.
• Experience coordinating with government institutions, humanitarian actors, and communities.
• Experience coordinating and managing teams.
• Knowledge of Sphere standards and humanitarian standards.
• Previous experience working with IOM, the United Nations, or other international humanitarian organizations, with knowledge of humanitarian principles, operational procedures, and coordination mechanisms.
• Experience contributing to the preparation of narrative and financial reports for donors, supporting donor reporting processes, calls for proposals, and project cycle management, ensuring compliance with reporting requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
• Experience coordinating with implementing partners, local authorities, and community-based organizations to support the implementation of humanitarian programs and ensure effective operational coordination.
• Experience in using monitoring tools and information management systems, as well as knowledge of the Venezuelan context—particularly in border areas—and human mobility dynamics, to support project implementation and decision-making.
   

All IOM staff members in all categories are required to be fluent in one of the IOM's official languages (English, French, Spanish).

For this position, fluency in spanish is required (oral and written).

This selection process may be used to staff similar positions in various duty stations. Recommended candidates will remain eligible to be appointed in a similar position for a period of 24 months.
