Support map referral partners, forging strategic alliances and promoting a collective approach to resource management in the context of migration-related interventions.
Assist in the implementation and monitoring of National Referral Mechanism related project activities.
- Retrieve, compile, summarize, analyze, and present information/data on referral conducted from IOM to various partners.
- Monitor budget; verify availability of funds; obtain necessary approval and update budget-related information.
- Act as focal point for administrative coordination of project implementation, involving extensive liaison with diverse organizational units and external parties to initiate requests, obtain necessary clearances, process and follow-up on administrative actions, etc.
- Draft status reports, identify shortfalls in delivery, bring them to the attention of the supervisor, and suggest remedial actions.
- Draft correspondence on project issues; prepare and update reports, briefing notes, graphics, statistical tables, presentations, and other forms of documentation.
- Respond to complex information requests and inquiries; set up and maintain files/records; organize meetings, workshops and training sessions.
- Participate in meetings and conferences; assist in coordinating implementation activities with local authorities, partners, United Nation agencies, intergovernmental and non-governmental organizations, donors and other stakeholders relevant to the project.
- Assist in monitoring work of implementing partners and report non-compliances to the supervisor.
- Provides guidance/training to new/junior staff.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
~1 min read- Bachelor’s degree in business administration or a related field from an accredited institution with three years of relevant professional experience; or,
High school diploma with five years of relevant professional experience.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, E-mail, Outlook;
- Attention to detail, ability to organize paperwork in a methodical way;
- Discreet, details and clients-oriented, patient and willingness to learn new things; and,
Prior work experience with international humanitarian organizations, non-government or government institutions/organization in a multi-cultural setting is an advantage.
Knowledge of International Public Sector Accounting Standards (IPSAS).
IOM’s official languages are English, French, and Spanish.
For this position, fluency in English and Amharic is required (oral and written).
Working knowledge of other local languages.

Responsibilities
~2 min readIOM covers Affiliated Contractors against occupational accidents and illnesses under the Compensation Plan (CP), free of charge, for the duration of the consultancy. IOM does not provide evacuation or medical insurance for reasons related to non-occupational accidents and illnesses. Consultants are responsible for their own medical insurance for non-occupational accident or illness and will be required to provide written proof of such coverage before commencing work.
