Established in 1951, the International Organization for Migration (IOM) is the leading inter-governmental organization in the field of migration and works closely with governmental, intergovernmental and non-governmental partners. IOM is committed to the principle that humane and orderly migration benefits migrants and society.

IOM Poland operates from its Country Office in Warsaw and sub-offices across the country, implementing programmes in migration governance, humanitarian assistance, refugee response, integration and other migration-related areas.

The consultant will provide programme support services contributing to the implementation and development of IOM Poland's activities supporting refugees and migrants. The consultancy will include programme coordination, research, reporting, partnership support and operational assistance.

The consultant will work under the direct supervision of the National Programme Officer and overall supervision of the Chief of Mission, in close coordination with Programme Managers and relevant programme teams.

Tasks to be performed under this contract
  • Prepare background papers, briefing notes, talking points, presentations, concept notes and other programme documentation.
  • Draft, edit and format reports, proposals and programme documentation.
  • Conduct research and compile information on migration, humanitarian assistance, integration, social cohesion and related thematic areas.
  • Support partnership development and external engagement activities, including liaison with Korean stakeholders, academic institutions and private sector partners, where relevant.
  • Support the organization and coordination of meetings, workshops, donor visits and events, including preparation of agendas, minutes, translation, and logistical arrangements.
  • Collect, organize and analyse programme information and data to support programme implementation and reporting.
  • Support internal coordination and communication across programme teams.
  • Assist with visibility, outreach and public information activities, where required.
  • Provide administrative and operational support for programme development and implementation.
  • Perform other programme support duties as assigned by the supervisor.

  • Timely completion of assigned programme support tasks.
  • Quality and accuracy of reports, briefing materials and other documentation.
  • Quality of research and analytical inputs provided.
  • Effective support to programme implementation and coordination activities.
  • Timely and professional communication with internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements

  • University degree in International Relations, Development Studies, Social Sciences or another relevant discipline from an accredited academic institution.

 

  • Experience supporting humanitarian, migration, international development or international cooperation programmes is desirable.
  • Strong research, analytical and drafting skills.
  • Experience supporting programme coordination or project implementation is an advantage.
  • Experience working with international organizations, government institutions or NGOs is desirable.

 

  • Excellent analytical, writing and organizational skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and coordination skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining close coordination with programme teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines

 

For this consultancy, fluency in Korean and English (written and spoken) is required.

Proficiency of language(s) required will be specifically evaluated during the selection process, which may include written and/or oral assessments.

Responsibilities

  1. IOM covers Consultants against occupational accidents and illnesses under the Compensation Plan (CP), free of charge, for the duration of the consultancy. IOM does not provide evacuation or medical insurance for reasons related to non-occupational accidents and illnesses. Consultants are responsible for their own medical insurance for non-occupational accident or illness and will be required to provide written proof of such coverage before commencing work.
