Requirements

  • High school diploma with at least four years of relevant professional experience; or, 
  • Bachelor’s degree in a health-related field (preferably Medicine, Nursing, Public Health, or other health-related disciplines) from an accredited academic institution with a minimum of two years of relevant professional experience.

 

  • Experience in liaising with governmental authorities, national/international institutions, United Nations agencies and non-governmental organizations;
  • Experience in working with migrants, refugees, internally displaced persons, victims of trafficking and other vulnerable groups; and,
  • Prior work experience with international humanitarian organizations, non-government or government institutions/organization in a multi-cultural setting is an advantage
  • Experience in field implementation, community outreach, health promotion, public health surveillance, referral follow-up, or humanitarian health programming.
  • Experience in monitoring, verification, data quality assurance, compliance monitoring, programme reporting or health information management is an advantage.

 

For this consultancy, fluency in English and Arabic is required.

Knowledge of French or other UN languages is an advantage. 

Proficiency of language(s) required will be specifically evaluated during the selection process, which may include written and/or oral assessments.

Responsibilities

IOM covers Consultants against occupational accidents and illnesses under the Compensation Plan (CP), free of charge, for the duration of the consultancy. IOM does not provide evacuation or medical insurance for reasons related to non-occupational accidents and illnesses. Consultants are responsible for their own medical insurance for non-occupational accident or illness and will be required to provide written proof of such coverage before commencing work. 

Any offer made to the candidate in relation to this vacancy notice is subject to funding confirmation.

Appointment will be subject to certification that the candidate is medically fit for appointment, accreditation, any residency or visa requirements, security clearances.
