Operational in Indonesia for more than 40 years, IOM Indonesia is one of the largest IOM missions in the world working on a wide range of activities in partnership with the Government of the Republic of Indonesia, civil society, private sector actors, migrants and communities.  IOM Indonesia is engaged in several thematic areas, including Counter-Trafficking, Labour Mobility and Social Inclusion, Disasters, Climate and Resilience, Immigration and Border Governance, Refugee Care, Migration Health, Migration Policy and Data Hub, and Resettlement and Voluntary Returns.

IOM Indonesia aims to ensure quality of care for refugees and asylum seekers referred to IOM by the Government of Indonesia according to applicable international humanitarian and human rights standards.  The Programme supports refugees through healthcare, education, basic needs, and contributes to the increased protection of vulnerable subgroups, such victims of sexual and gender-based violence, among others, through referral mechanisms involving the active participation of specialized state and non-state service providers.  It also contributes to supporting them with the eventual sustainable pathways.

Under the direct supervision of Head of Field Office, in close coordination with Migration Health Physician in Surabaya, and the overall supervision of the Community Accountability Coordinator, and working closely with all involved in the case management system, including care management, the Programme Associate (Migration Heath Nurse) will  be responsible for assisting in the implementation of health-care activities, in line with the Programme requirements and as part of the Programme’s strategy on community engagement and accountability to affected populations, in line with IOM policies.

This selection process may be used to staff similar positions in various duty stations. Recommended candidates will remain eligible to be appointed in a similar position for a period of 24 months.

• High school diploma with five years of relevant professional experience; or,
• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Public Health, Medicine or Nursing from an accredited academic institution with at least three years of experience in health services.
   

Accredited Universities are those listed in the UNESCO World Higher Education Database.

• Good knowledge and experience s health services assisting in the implementation of programme and operational support activities. 
• Experience supporting community outreach, social assistance, or health-related programme activities is an advantage.
• Prior experience supporting administrative processes related to health insurance or service providers is an advantage.
• Experience in liaising with governmental, national, or international organizations is preferred.
   

• Basic understanding of health-service processes and referral pathways within programme operations.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.  
• Ability to draft clear and concise reports and correspondence.
• Proficient in computer applications, including MS Office.
   

All IOM staff members in all categories are required to be fluent in one of the IOM's official languages (English, French, Spanish).
