Associate Director/Director - UK Restructuring Origination

We are seeking a Restructuring Origination Leader to lead business development efforts for our UK restructuring practice. This is a market-facing role that combines target identification, thought leadership, relationship management, and internal stakeholder coordination. You will be responsible for identifying and winning high-impact mandates in the restructuring and distressed situations space by leveraging market insight, proprietary perspective, and the collective capabilities of the Interpath network.

This role offers significant autonomy and requires a self-directed professional with strong market presence and the ability to translate market opportunities into mandates. You will operate at senior levels within the market, building relationships with key stakeholders including financial sponsors, creditors, boards, management teams, banks, lawyers, and fellow advisors.

Responsibilities:

• Target identification and analysis: Develop ‘Interpath view’ on stressed and distressed corporates across sectors, conduct deep-dive analysis on situations of strategic interest, monitor market trends, credit stress signals, operational challenges to identify early-stage opportunities
• Business Development and Relationship Management: Lead opportunity related conversations with external stakeholders including banks, funds, lawyers, sponsors. Build and maintain network of relationships with market participants. Represent Interpath in the market and help convert relationships & insights into sales.
• Internal Stakeholder Management & Engagement: Maintain a network across the Interpath Group driving collaboration to bring the best of Interpath to each situation. Mobilise cross service-line capabilities and sector expertise within Interpath to address clients needs. Serve as client and market interface. Manage and drive internal opportunity pipeline.

• 7+ years in restructuring advisory, distressed M&A, Banking/Finance or related field
• Track record of successful business development and mandate origination
• Established network with key stakeholders in the restructuring market (sponsors, lenders, lawyers, funds)
• Experience leading market-facing roles with P&L responsibility or business development targets
• Experience in an advisory, consulting, or professional services environment
• Deep expertise in restructuring, distressed M&A, insolvency, and complex debt situations
• Strong financial/credit analysis capabilities and understanding of debt structures, creditor dynamics, and stakeholder incentives
• Ability to identify stressed and distressed situations early and develop unique perspectives
• Strong research skills and ability to synthesize complex information into actionable insights
• Excellent communication and presentation skills; ability to articulate perspectives clearly and compellingly
• Ability to work effectively across a networked, collaborative organization
• Strong internal stakeholder management and influence without direct authority
