We are looking for a Middle+ QA Engineer to join an international project focused on modernizing Oman's national tax system.
The QA Engineer will participate in building and implementing a comprehensive quality assurance strategy covering the entire software development lifecycle — from requirements analysis to user acceptance testing. The quality approach is based on the Plan–Do–Check–Act (PDCA) methodology and involves close collaboration with the development team and client representatives.
The role includes regular business trips to Oman (up to one month) for on-site collaboration with the project team and the client, combined with remote work in an international distributed team.
Requirements- 3+ years of commercial experience as a QA Engineer.
- Experience in testing web applications and APIs.
- Ability to work with test documentation (test plans, test cases, RTM).
- Experience with manual and automated testing.
- Understanding of CI/CD principles and the role of testing in automated pipelines.
- Experience with bug tracking tools (Jira).
- Good understanding of the software development lifecycle and the role of QA at each stage.
- Fluent English, both spoken and written.
- Participate in defining and executing the quality assurance strategy for the project.
- Analyze functional and non-functional requirements in collaboration with the team and the client.
- Prepare and maintain test documentation (test plans, test cases, RTM).
- Perform API testing (SOAP / REST).
- Develop and maintain automated UI tests and integrate them into CI/CD pipelines.
- Participate in integration and end-to-end testing of a service-oriented architecture.
- Conduct performance, stability, and security testing.
- Test mobile applications (iOS, Android, Huawei).
- Ensure data quality and participate in testing AI/ML-related components.
- Manage defects and prepare quality status reports.
- Support and participate in User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
- Collaborate with developers, DevOps engineers, analysts, and client representatives.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior QA engineers: support testing approach and tool selection, review test documentation and automated tests, define and track testing tasks, develop and improve QA practices and quality standards within the team.
- Experience working with Selenium.
- Experience with SoapUI for API testing.
- Experience in testing mobile applications.
- Experience with data quality validation tools (e.g., Great Expectations).
- Understanding of TDD and unit testing principles.
- Experience working on large-scale enterprise or government projects.
- Experience working in internationally distributed teams.
- Participation in a large-scale, national-level government project.
- Business trips to Oman (up to one month) for on-site collaboration with the client and project team.
