The Senior Accountant, based in the DR, reports to the US-based CFO and works closely with the US-based Controller. The position supports Financial Reporting & Operations for InvestorFlow’s global accounting and financial reporting function, with responsibility for multi-entity general ledger consolidation, monthly GAAP financial reporting, non-people operating expense budgeting and reporting, and oversight of Company SaaS subscriptions.
This position works closely with the Controller on accounting, consolidation, month-end close, and financial reporting matters and with business budget owners. The job requires advanced Excel skills, strong accounting knowledge, excellent English communication skills, and the ability to independently analyze financial information and identify issues.
Budgeting and budget-to-actual responsibilities are limited to non-people-related expenses.
- Oversee the monthly interface of the UK and Dominican Republic accounting ledgers into NetSuite.
- Ensure local general ledger accounts and departments are properly mapped to the Company's consolidated chart of accounts.
- Reconcile local entity trial balances to amounts recorded in NetSuite.
- Prepare and record the required NetSuite entries for the UK and Dominican Republic entities.
- Identify and resolve mapping, classification, intercompany, and other consolidation differences.
- Maintain supporting schedules and documentation for consolidated entity activity.
- Prepare the monthly Excel-based financial reporting and consolidated analysis file used to review consolidated Company results.
- Perform monthly analytical review of consolidated results including flux analysis and variance to budget review as part of monthly close. Investigate unusual or unexpected balances and fluctuations.
- Prepare monthly Management reports and reconcile to the GAAP reporting.
- Prepare monthly consolidated GAAP financial statements, including: Balance Sheet, Income Statement and Statement of Cash Flows
- Prepare semi-monthly cash forecast report
- Prepare supporting schedules and analyses for the Controller's review and other financial reporting projects.
- Assist with year-end close and preparation of audited financials and footnotes.
- Prepare and maintain the Company’s rolling 12-month cash forecast, updated semi-monthly, including Base Case, Near-Term Pipeline, and Upside scenarios.
- Update forecast assumptions for customer receipts, aggregate people expense, operating expenses, and other cash activity.
- Analyze and explain changes from prior forecasts, key assumptions, projected liquidity, and significant risks for Controller and CFO review.
- Assist with the annual budget and forecast for non-people-related operating expenses, including:
- Hosting costs and direct (non-people) cost of goods sold
- Facilities
- Travel
- Marketing
- Professional fees
- Computer costs, including Software subscriptions
- Other operating expenses
- Prepare monthly budget-to-actual reporting by department and budget owner.
- Schedule and participate in regular meetings with budget owners to review spending, commitments, forecasts, and potential savings. Identify significant budget variances and follow up with budget owners to understand drivers and expected future spending.
- Maintain updated non-people expense forecasts based on information received from budget owners.
- Proactively monitor upcoming renewals and provide sufficient lead time for business owners to evaluate whether subscriptions should be renewed, renegotiated, reduced, or cancelled. Coordinate with Finance and IT.
- Work directly with budget owners to identify unused or underutilized subscriptions and cost-saving opportunities.
- Ensure software purchases and renewals follow the Company's contracting and approval processes.
- Monitor actual software spending against budget and report significant variances.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Approximately 4–6 years of accounting, financial reporting, or related experience.
- Strong knowledge of general accounting principles and financial statement preparation; U.S. GAAP experience strongly preferred.
- Experience with multi-entity accounting, consolidation, and month-end close.
- Advanced Excel skills, including the ability to efficiently work with large datasets, complex formulas, lookups, pivot tables, reconciliations, and financial reporting models. Experience with NetSuite or another major ERP system strongly preferred.
- Experience preparing consolidated balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to identify and investigate financial variances.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills. Ability to communicate professionally with U.S., UK, and Dominican Republic employees and business leaders.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage recurring deadlines independently. Demonstrated initiative, sound judgment, and ability to identify issues and recommend solutions.
