Integrated Specialty Coverages, LLC (ISC) is a growth stage technology and data-driven commercial MGA and insurance wholesaler leading innovation in the market.

Backed by one of the leading private equity firms, Onex Partners, and led by a forward-thinking management team, ISC is combining the worlds of insurance and technology to create an Insurtech powerhouse. As a leading online distributor of insurance products for a range of industries and “Main Street USA”, we are looking for the right people to help us in our mission of achieving exponential growth. We strive to be the number one place to go for brokers and agents to source insurance. To accomplish this, we’re building a digitally focused team that deeply understands the intersection between user experience, data, and AI/ML to optimize the way we engage with our customers and partners.

Integrated Specialty Coverages (ISC) is a specialty insurance MGA operating five consumer-facing retail insurance brands. Email is both an acquisition and a retention channel across the portfolio, and each brand has a materially different customer journey- from one-time event insurance buyers with a hard deadline, to contractors renewing surety bonds annually, to international visitors purchasing travel medical coverage for family.

We are hiring a contract Email Marketing Specialist to own email end to end across all five brands for a six-month engagement. This is a builder's role, not a maintenance role. You will work with the head of digital marketing to set the strategy, write the copy, build and QA the sends and automations in Campaign Monitor and report on what worked.

Responsibilities

~1 min read
  • Build and maintain a rolling email calendar across all five brands- promotional, retention, and nurture sends balanced to avoid list fatigue.
  • Recommend send cadence by brand, segment, and season, tied to each brand's booking and renewal patterns (event season, peak travel booking windows, construction activity cycles, bond renewal timing).
  • Identify and prioritize campaign opportunities tied to product launches, seasonal demand, renewals, and promotional periods.
  • Surface cross-sell and upsell opportunities within brands and flag where cross-brand contact overlap requires suppression.
  • Write subject lines, preview text, body copy, and CTAs for campaigns, automations, and transactional sends.
  • Adapt voice precisely by brand- authoritative and efficient for contractor audiences; warm and plain-language for INF's ESL international audience; editorial and non-salesy for Travelinsurance.com; reassuring and urgent for first-time Event Helper buyers.
  • Write for conversion: one clear objective and one primary CTA per send unless the format dictates otherwise.
  • Partner with brand stakeholders on creative; brief and route assets as needed.
  • Design, build, write, and QA triggered programs: welcome and onboarding series, quote abandonment, post-purchase, renewal reminders, event-date countdowns, policy extension prompts, and win-back flows.
  • Map automation logic explicitly- triggers, delays, branching conditions, suppression rules, and exit criteria- in documentation a stakeholder or developer can act on.
  • Design conversion paths that match how each brand actually sells (bind via agent vs. online).
  • Build and maintain segmentation based on purchase behavior, product/policy type, lifecycle stage, geography, and engagement recency.
  • Monitor list health- inactivity, hard bounce and complaint trends, unsubscribe rate movement- and execute remediation including sunset policies and re-engagement campaigns.
  • Own cross-brand suppression logic so shared contacts are not over-mailed or mailed for competing products.
  • Own inbox placement: sending domain reputation, SPF/DKIM/DMARC alignment, authentication for each brand's sending domain, and compliance with Gmail and Yahoo bulk sender requirements (one-click unsubscribe, spam complaint rate under 0.10%, full authentication).
  • Build and troubleshoot responsive email HTML/CSS; QA rendering across major clients and devices including dark mode, and fix what breaks.
  • Manage warm-up and volume ramp plans for any new sending domain or subdomain.
  • Apply accessibility fundamentals- meaningful alt text, semantic structure, sufficient contrast, real text over image-only layouts.
  • Report on open rate, CTR, click-to-open, conversion rate, revenue or bound-policy contribution per send, unsubscribe rate, and deliverability metrics.
  • Maintain disciplined UTM taxonomy and reconcile email performance in GA4; for phone-bind brands, work through call tracking and Salesforce campaign attribution rather than click-to-purchase.
  • Deliver a weekly performance snapshot and a monthly rollup: headline metric movement, key observations, and prioritized next actions.
  • Diagnose underperforming sends and come back with specific fixes, not general observations.
  • Keep all sends compliant with CAN-SPAM, TCPA (relevant given phone-based conversion paths), and GDPR/CASL considerations for international audiences.
  • Route insurance copy through the appropriate compliance review; avoid coverage guarantees, implied eligibility, or claims language that creates regulatory exposure.

Requirements

~2 min read
  • Hands-on Campaign Monitor experience is required. You should be able to independently build segments, dynamic content, journeys/automations, custom fields, list imports, and templates without ramp-up time.
  • 4+ years owning email marketing execution and strategy, including lifecycle/triggered programs- not solely batch-and-blast.
  • Demonstrated ability to write conversion-focused email copy and adapt voice across distinct audiences. Portfolio or work samples required.
  • Working knowledge of email HTML/CSS- able to edit templates, fix rendering issues, and debug what a drag-and-drop builder produces.
  • Practical deliverability knowledge: authentication (SPF/DKIM/DMARC), reputation management, list hygiene, and current Gmail/Yahoo bulk sender requirements.
  • Comfort with GA4 and UTM-based attribution; able to build a performance narrative from data without an analyst.
  • Experience running structured A/B tests and reading results with appropriate skepticism about significance.
  • Familiarity with CAN-SPAM and TCPA requirements.
  • Proven ability to manage competing priorities across multiple brands or business units with minimal supervision.
  • Experience with Salesforce, particularly Salesforce-to-ESP integrations and using CRM stages as automation triggers and exit criteria.
  • Insurance, financial services, or another regulated-industry background or clear comfort working within compliance review cycles.
  • Experience marketing to both small business/contractor audiences and direct-to-consumer audiences.
  • Experience writing for ESL or international audiences in plain language.
  • Email QA tooling experience (Litmus, Email on Acid) and familiarity with deliverability monitoring tools.
  • Experience supporting phone-based or agent-assisted conversion models, including call tracking attribution.
  • Experience with a second ESP (Klaviyo, HubSpot, Marketing Cloud, Braze, Iterable)- useful if platform evaluation comes up.
