We are seeking security focused individuals with high attention to detail who have an interest in pursuing a career in the Aviation and Transport Sector. Due to recent changes in legislation, ISS is excited to offer a new pathway to being becoming a Freight Air Cargo Examinator across multiple sites in Sydney on an afternoon shift, Casual basis.

As a Freight Aviation Protection Officer with ISS, everyday will bring new challenges and opportunities. You'll be at the forefront of ensuring the safety and security of goods and services flowing through our facilities and play a crucial role in safeguarding our clients' assets and contributing to our continued success.

About the Role

Seeking a new career path and have an interest in security and aviation? Play a critical role with a diverse team of Security Professionals dedicated to safety and compliance screening cargo as part of a national team!

You will be:

  • Efficiently operate screening equipment to ensure the security of cargo and assets
  • Keep things moving smoothly by managing the flow of goods and services through our facilities
  • Follow process control documentation, including safe work method statements and work instructions, to maintain a secure and compliant environment
  • Willing to travel to other local sites if required for leave coverage or assistance 
  • Willing to commit to complete company provided training to gain Certificate II in Transport Security Protection (Cargo) OR currently hold a Certificate II in Transport Security Protection (Cargo).
  • Ability to successfully pass drug and alcohol screening and medical assessments including an Ishihara test.
  • Ability to obtain an ASIC (Criminal history clearance in the past 10 years) which ISS pay for.
  • A QLD Security License is highly desired!
  • Hold an unrestricted driver's license and have own reliable vehicle.
  • Availability to work across a 24/7 rotational roster if required

  • →A Certificate II In Transport Security Protection (Cargo) (TSP). For a limited time, this nationally recognised qualification is offered at $1000 (usually $2000) through ISS. *Please read below for more information on this course.

Aviation security is an important industry, to meet new and emerging threat levels, specific theoretical knowledge has been passed through Parliament as a requirement for all Aviation Screeners.

As the Employer AND Training Provider, we are in a unique position to guide and support you through the Certificate II in Transport Security Protection (Cargo) and 40 hours paid On-the-Job Training required for all Aviation Screeners preparing you for your new role as a Freight Aviation Protection Officer, with our Registered Training Organisation.
