We are looking for a trainee to support the work of the ESM’s Legal division. You will report to the General Counsel (GC). The Legal division is organised along four practice areas: Institutional and Corporate, Capital Markets, Lending and Banking and Human Resources. They cover the following areas of work: institutional law (EU law and Public International Law), capital markets law, banking law, lending law and international civil servant law.
PURPOSE OF THE TRAINEESHIP
- Support the work of the Legal division
- Contribute to the implementation of the Legal Knowledge Management plan, including through consolidation of an internal Wiki,
- Attend team and other relevant meetings to gain a deeper understanding of the Legal division’s work and role in the institution,
- Support the GC in the preparation of presentations, notes, and other documentation as needed.
KEY BACKGROUND & EXPERIENCE
- A candidate (or recent graduate within one year of graduation) for a bachelor or master’s degree in the field of public international, European or financial law, or another discipline related to the content of the traineeship
Experience in an international and multicultural environment would be an asset
- Strong interest in the areas of work covered by the ESM’s Legal division and knowledge management
- Strong sense of confidentiality and discretion
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office is required
- Fluent oral and written communication skills in English

- Expected start date: as soon as possible
- Expected duration: six months with a possible extension for another six months
- Competitive allowance granted
- Place of the traineeship: Luxembourg
- Current working arrangements: possibility to work remotely, normally up to two days a week, from Luxembourg and the border region (or from further away under certain conditions).
