The CRA & Consumer Compliance Governance Officer supports the CCO in maintaining the Bank’s CRA and Consumer Compliance Programs, with a strong focus on U.S. banking regulations, OCC and FDIC supervisory expectations, regulatory examination readiness, and effective compliance risk management. The role supports governance across CRA, fair lending, mortgage, credit card, deposit, lending, privacy, UDAAP, complaints, electronic banking, and other applicable consumer protection requirements.
The position provides regulatory analysis, monitoring, reporting, and governance support to the CCO and management, working with business and control functions to identify risks, strengthen controls, support issue remediation, and maintain a well-documented, regulator-ready compliance framework.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- Support the CCO in maintaining the CRA Program, related policies, procedures, governance framework, and examination readiness.
- Monitor CRA performance across lending, community development services, investments, volunteering, and charitable contributions.
- Maintain CRA records, documentation, data integrity, performance metrics, and management reporting.
- Coordinate CRA regulatory reviews and support reporting to senior management, committees, and the Board.
- Monitor CRA regulatory developments and recommend practical program enhancements.
- Support the CCO in maintaining the Consumer Compliance Management System (CMS) and related governance framework.
- Provide regulatory support across applicable consumer protection laws, including mortgage, credit card, deposit, lending, fair lending, privacy, UDAAP, complaint management, and electronic banking requirements.
- Review consumer products, services, disclosures, marketing materials, customer communications, and new product initiatives for regulatory risk.
- Support compliance monitoring, testing, regulatory change management, issue tracking, remediation, and consumer harm/root-cause analysis.
- Coordinate support for consumer compliance examinations, supervisory inquiries, internal audits, and external reviews.
- Translate regulatory requirements and supervisory expectations into practical controls, procedures, monitoring plans, and business guidance.
- Perform CRA and consumer compliance risk assessments and support maintenance of policies, procedures, and monitoring frameworks.
- Prepare reports, dashboards, key risk indicators, training materials, and governance updates for management and Board committees.
- Escalate significant compliance risks, regulatory concerns, control gaps, and remediation matters to the CCO.
- Maintain examination-ready governance records, evidence, issue escalation, ownership, and remediation tracking.
- Collaborate with Internal Audit, Risk Management, Legal, and business units to strengthen compliance governance.
- Provide analysis on regulatory trends, supervisory priorities, and impacts to the Bank’s products, services, controls, and strategic initiatives.
Requirements
~1 min read- Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Law, Risk Management, or a related field.
- Master’s degree or Juris Doctor (JD) preferred.
- Minimum of 7–10+ years of progressive experience in U.S. banking regulatory compliance, consumer compliance, CRA, fair lending, compliance risk management, or regulatory examination support.
- Strong working knowledge of U.S. banking laws, OCC and FDIC supervisory expectations, and consumer protection regulations applicable to national banks or federally supervised financial institutions.
- Experience supporting CRA programs, consumer compliance governance, regulatory examinations, audits, monitoring, testing, risk assessments, and issue remediation.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret complex regulations, supervisory guidance, examination findings, and enforcement trends into practical controls, procedures, and business requirements.
- Experience preparing regulatory responses, management reports, Board or committee materials, monitoring results, and remediation documentation.
- Experience in a community bank, regional bank, de novo bank, or similar financial institution preferred.

Compliance with Anti-Money Laundering and Bank Secrecy Act related principles, laws, rules and regulations, as well as Itau’s related policies and procedures.
