STUDENT- OT Grad Assistant for Technological Interventions

OT Tech Grad Assistant Position:
• 5 hours per week
• Occupational Therapy students only please
• Set-up and cleanup labs (Wednesdays 8:30-10:10; 1:15-2:55 – set up can be day
before) and classes (T/Th 1:00-2:05 CHS 203)
• Technology and resource inventory in Tech closet
o Maintain an inventory of technology, devices, adaptive equipment, apps,
accounts, and accessories.
o Track what is available, where it is stored, and whether items need repair,
replacement, updating, or charging.
o Help organize digital resources and shared course folders.
• Emerging technology/evidence surveillance
o Periodically search for new technologies relevant to OT practice, rather
than only finding articles for specific assignments.
o Identify emerging areas such as AI, virtual/augmented reality, wearable
technology, smart-home technology, telehealth, robotics, 3D printing,
accessibility technology, etc.
o Bring potentially relevant technologies or articles to the instructor's
attention for possible incorporation into the course.
• Evidence synthesis
o Create brief annotated bibliographies or evidence summaries.
o Organize literature by topic, population, intervention, outcome, and
level/type of evidence.
o Maintain a searchable literature database that you can use in future
semesters.
• Student assignment organization
o Collate and organize student submissions.
o Help categorize student projects/resources by technology type,
population, practice area, etc.
• Lab management
o Prepare equipment/materials before labs and return everything to its
designated location afterward.
o Check that devices are charged, functioning, and ready for the next use.
o Help develop standardized setup/cleanup procedures so that future labs
require less preparation time.
• Data/documentation (possibly)
o Maintain organized records of technology used, resources found,
equipment needs, and course updates.
o Potentially track which technologies/resources are used each semester so
you have a record for future course planning or accreditation purposes.
