The Co-Head of Pro Bono Health is a strategic and operational leader responsible for co-designing, coordinating, and strengthening health-focused interventions under Pro Bono Uganda. Working alongside the Head of Pro Bono Health, the role ensures that health programs are ethically sound, community-driven, evidence-based, and aligned with national and global health standards.
The Co-Head plays a critical role in translating community health needs into structured, impactful programs, supporting volunteer teams, and strengthening partnerships with health institutions, professionals, and development actors.
This role balances leadership, coordination, and accountability, ensuring that Pro Bono Health initiatives deliver real, measurable impact while upholding dignity, inclusion, and sustainability.
1.Program Design & Implementation
• Co-lead the design and rollout of Pro Bono Health initiatives (e.g. medical camps, SRHR education, mental health awareness, maternal and child health support).
• Support the integration of public health principles, safeguarding standards, and ethical practice into all activities.
• Ensure programs respond to identified community needs and align with Pro Bono Uganda’s ImpactNest model.
2.Volunteer Coordination & Capacity Building
• Support recruitment, onboarding, and coordination of health volunteers and allied professionals.
• Mentor volunteer leads and ensure teams are well-prepared for field implementation.
• Promote a culture of professionalism, learning, and accountability among volunteers.
3.Partnerships & Stakeholder Engagement
• Support engagement with hospitals, clinics, NGOs, CSOs, professional associations, and local leaders.
• Assist in building partnerships that strengthen service delivery, referrals, and sustainability.
• Represent Pro Bono Health in selected stakeholder meetings and outreach activities.
4.Monitoring, Learning & Reporting
• Support basic Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning (MEL) processes for health programs.
• Contribute to documentation of lessons learned, impact stories, and post-activity reports.
• Support data-driven improvement of programs.
5.Governance, Safeguarding & Compliance
• Uphold safeguarding, volunteer ethics, and accountability standards.
• Support risk assessment and ensure safe implementation of health activities.
• Ensure activities align with Uganda’s health policies and Pro Bono Uganda’s values.
Requirements
