Adjunct Faculty- Applied Artificial Intelligence (AAIT)

􀆔 Facilitates student learning by delivering assigned classes in accordance with College policy and course objectives.

􀆔 Makes optimal use of available technology to enhance instructional methods.

􀆔 Develops/maintains course outlines, syllabi, lesson plans, assignments, tests, and materials. Maintains accurate student records, grades, and other requirements.

􀆔 Engages with students in meaningful and productive ways that impact student learning and leads to a positive experience with Ivy Tech Community College, shows evidence of developing and implementing active classroom teaching strategies focused on engaging students with their learning (curricular).

􀆔 Monitor and document student performance throughout the semester, including use of technology for academic advising alerts; provide necessary interventions to include communication with students, tutoring and other academic supports, and referrals to appropriate college resources.

􀆔 Interacts with students and co-workers in a professional and cooperative manner, complies with College policies, campus guidelines and expectations.

􀆔 Ensures knowledge of and implements emergency and safety procedures for classrooms, labs and all learning environments.

All responsibilities will be conducted within the parameters of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), other applicable regulatory requirements, and professional standards.

Applied Artificial Intelligence (AAIT) Program Standard A qualified faculty member in Applied Artificial Intelligence Technologies (AAIT) meets the program standard through one of the following three routes:

• Possesses an earned master’s degree or higher in information technology, or a related field, from a regionally accredited institution

• Possesses an earned out-of-field master’s degree from a regionally accredited institution, with documentation in one or more of the following:

o Professional certification (national, regional, or state) in the field

o Two years of in-field professional employment

o Documented evidence of information technology teaching excellence, including the date of the award

o Documentation of research and publication in the field

o Documented completion of at least 18 semester hours of relevant information technology coursework, or equivalent subject-matter education demonstrated through CEUs, vendor training, military training, or a combination thereof

• Possesses an earned bachelor’s degree in information technology, or a related field, from a regionally accredited institution, with documentation in two or more of the following:

o Professional certification (national, regional, or state) in the field

o Two years of in-field professional employment

o Documented evidence of information technology teaching excellence, including the date of the award

o Documentation of research and publication in the field

o Documented completion of at least 18 semester hours of relevant information technology coursework, or equivalent subject-matter education demonstrated through CEUs, vendor training, military training, or a combination thereof AAIT 110 - Artificial Intelligence Essentials Course Standard A qualified faculty member teaching AAIT 110 meets the course standard through one of the following three routes:

• Meets the program standard

• Holds a valid, AI-specific certification and holds an earned bachelor’s degree or higher from a regionally accredited institution in information technology, or a related field, as appropriate to the program

• Possesses an earned out-of-field bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution, with documentation in two or more of the following:

o Professional certification (national, regional, or state) in the information technology field

o Four years of professional employment in the information technology field
